Fret not baseball fans, the world of baseball will not be dominated with teams like the Cubs and Indians for long. Without our firesale neither of these teams make it to the series. Luckily, they both over spent and the combined effect of a stocked farm with arod walking on 1+ years of his contract and Tex retiring, we'll be back on top soon...

Oh goodie the Yankees fanboy is back... just in time to throw a bit of shade onto those who did better this year

See you in the playoffs next year... IF you make it this time

At least we don't have to worry about F Youk being thin skinned and deleting his account when challenged... I hope

Yes, but now is now, and they both got there and one of them is world champion. It always seems like fans who root for losing teams come back with some form of "wait 'till next year" which let's face it, is what it is. I know.
However, I will give you that the Chapman ( strangely by LAD osmosis sort of) sure helped the Cubs, and Miller was great for the Indians...each who showed flak damage by World series end, I might add. Indeed.
But I don't know if trading away talent like that, who would almost certainly help the Yanks get to the post season, is really something to get all puffed up about. Being they were huge factors for two others.
Premier rp are not a dime a dozen. I guess they knew they were going to tank, so they moved them?
    We'll see...

The odd part was the yanks couldn't win all year and it wasn't until the trades and arod finally get off the team that the yanks showed any signs of life. You're dead right about premiere relief pitching but I'd also expand it to the fact they tend not last very long at the top of their game either. I'm not delusional that the yanks will compete seriously next year or probably even the year after that but it freed up $, cut dead weight(arod and Beltran) and with the prospects Miller and chapman returned boosted what was, at best, a mediocre farm system. Keeping a couple relievers wouldn't have helped get NY on the right path like admitting to the fact we needed to sell at the deadline.

yeah, and in parallel, the Dodgers fates certainly improved with casting Carl Crawford into retirement
