    personally
i would have called off the meeting immediately
let him know "you don't make the rules, we do"
    tbf that's what happened ultimately
i just would have cut the cord earlier/without hesitation
not a big fan of the "let me think about it first"

Not a big fan of being known for well thought out positions??

Oblather has strengths but effective foreign policy thus far appears to escape his grasp

The position of strength might have been to have the meeting and talk about whatever the fuck you intended regardless of this pinheads outburst.

If the pinhead had his shit together then he'd have his own knowledge of how scummy certain governmental offices behave here in the States. If I'm the Duterte pinhead I answer each inquiry most politely and respectfully while each answer slams the US narrow claims of plausible deniability issue by issue. There's gotta be plenty of ammo especially if he knows that ole feckless Barry has no sack nor grasp of the details.

So the pinhead played the Nationalist card and Barry fell right into it.

    Would Putin of done that?

    Would Trump?

Sooooooo...the bottom line is that you would have done what he did, but you wanted to bitch about it in the interim?

    Got it.

I disagree as it would be counter-productive. In this scenario you give the fuckhead the stage and spotlight he is obviously craving. You'd be pandering to his wishes. Shunning him tells teh world that he is insignificant and inconsequential.

no, that's a distortion of what i said
    he chose a circuitous/passive route
as far as bitching in the interim, i'll leave that to the specialists :mirror:

Actually, no, it's pretty much the same thing, the only difference is the 'immediately'.

Think of it this way. A businessman doesn't have respect for a supplier/distributor so when he gets calls from them what happens? He puts them on hold. Then the call gets forwarded to a jr. exec or an 'account specialist'. Basically what Obama did to Deurte, he disrespected him by cold shouldering him. Any direct response from Obama would have been what Deurte wanted, another chance to get press/attention.

What I said : imo, you got this wrong. Obama is saying "find a reason to deny this piece of shit a meeting, because obviously he's a giant douche". Again, imo, Obama giving this guy a cold shoulder sends the message that 'if you don't play with my ball, then you don't play at all'. Out of curiousity, what would you have Obama do?

We said the same thing, you just don't want to admit it.
