I think he’s better than Goff. Goff has moments of brilliance but that dude is not smart. Needs his hand held. Stafford is a lot more consistent

Nobody's ever really expected a Super Bowl out of Stafford in Detroit, so for the 1st time he's got some real pressure. Especially with the Lakers and Dodgers winning titles and fans now turning and looking at the Rams. Hope Stafford handles championship pressure better than his buddy Kersh

Rams basically paid the major price for Goff's contract. Panthers, Colts and Niners were also in heavy pursuit of Stafford....wonder if those teams now turn to Carr and/or Mariota? Step right up.

What MZA said mostly. Stafford has put up better numbers and is far more consistent. Definitely a win now move, and I'm sure the Rams front office did their due diligence and felt this was the only real option to upgrade at QB.

I also think it's a nice deal for Detroit. That Goff contract was trash, so the picks add value for Detroit. Detroit isn't really in any shape to contend for a Super Bowl anytime soon, so they can run Goff out there and hope he figures something out.

Pressure is on McVay. It’s more than win now...it’s you better win or the entire franchise is at risk kinda win.

You have a multi-billion dollar, late, and over budget facility built just in time fir COVID. You have no viable draft picks for the next 7 years probably. You have an increasingly banged up HoF defensive lineman and a 33 year old QB. Seattle, SF and Arizona are not going to sit still. The Raiders are in Vegas and may get better depending on how this off season pans out.....to me it’s do or die time. The entire FO and McVay himself are on the line as well.

Donald's been injured one time, the rib injury in the Seattle playoff game. He's the least of their worries.

In that position, he’s not going to last and it will be a steep downhill run from there.

All I’m saying is they don’t have a lot of time on the defensive side either. This is the team they got until a complete rebuild, and then the finger pointing and the bloodbath will begin.

With KC looking so strong, it will take a miracle.

Looks like Carolina may have blown it with Watson

Sure would like to get that 8th overall pick from Carolina for Carr

Goff's a dead man. The O-line in Detroit is much worse and will probably get torn down and take numerous steps back..no dominant running game to lean on so likely very little playaction success, WR position about to take a hit with their best likely on the way out, etc.

It's OK though. That's why he's there. They'll draft a young QB and let Goff take all the sacks and hits while they rebuild on the cheap. Lol Crash dummy status. A big money crash dummy though. So long as he keeps his eyes on the $$$ he'll be fine. Best advice he can hope for is " duck ". Gotta live and spend that $$$

Hard to blame the Rams a ton. They want this 2nd tour in LA to work out and are going balls to wall. If they don't, think we all know LA will snooze right through football season if the team's nothin special or there's no exciting offseason to build anticipation. Stafford's really the best they could hope for under the circumstances w/Goff basically being a cancer

Another thing they have going for them is that if they just keep it close, the league will cover their eyes and help out if they can....Saints still want their pass interference. League said, " fuck dem Saints..we need LA to work this time. " Lol Na, but you make a great point about the Rams D..they've already lost their highly touted defensive coordinator to the Chargers. Chargers look like they have something brewing with young Herbert @ QB and could soon build a little following in the city. Chargers certainly have the better uniforms....probably one of the top 5 uniforms in the league even after remodeling them a little

Chargers are and will never be more than an afterthought in LA. Should have never moved.

If only LA were actually that tough when it comes to NFL football. RAIDERS left Oakland ( should have never moved) and took that shit over in LA

But I hope the Chargers don't make their mark in LA, obviously. If they do, it'll likely mean that they've won a Super Bowl behind Herbert and Staley and that's no good

Seeing so many people question giving up a lot for Watson blows my mind

Watson is a unicorn. An elite QB at the age of 25 is never available. A guy like Watson is always locked up and maybe switches teams way late in his career like Favre, Peyton, or Brady. You give up whatever the fuck it takes because you're getting an elite QB for 10+ years...this is easy.

Unfortunately, the Raiders do not have what it takes to beat out other packages.

McVay held Goff's hand throughout his entire Rams tenure. Goff is not the brightest QB and has a lot of issues reading defenses/adjusting on the fly. I think he's going to be horrible in Detroit.

Cowherd is getting slayed by Raider Nation on twitter today for proposing the RAIDERS trade Darren Waller for Watson. And I have to say that I wouldn't be happy if that happened. Talk about a unicorn..Waller is a unicorn. No thanks.

They can be creative and figure something else out....can trade Carr for a 1st or a couple 2nds and flip those over to Houston. And ditto for a couple others like Gabe Jackson and Mariota, trade and flip. They could also put Henry Ruggs or John Abram in the trade and that would represent 1st round talent. Can do all that an offer their own picks too. Whatever they do, they better not trade Darren fuckin Waller

Goff's made some of the worst throws I've ever seen. As has this guy....

He's done, irrelevant, and he'll be out of the league in 3-4 years tops.

Gruden & Maycock should do anything to get Watson. The only problem is that the Texans do not want Carr 2.0

Safe to say they will try like hell. Gruden loves Watson way more than he loved AB. And if you're already fielding like 6 players from Clemson and have picked up the moniker " Clemson West "..how do you pass on going after the greatest Clemson player of them all? Not to mention we need some room for error against KC and Watson would be a nice answer to Mahomes for the next however many years

Carr going to the Texans would be a solid, little story for the NFL and the Texans too. Granted, it was a different regime in Houston at the time, but they did pass on Carr in draft because of his brother so who knows? Think Carolina would be a nice stop for Carr..they wanted Stafford, so they damn well better want Carr. They have some nice weapons on offense in Carolina. Having a stud RB means they can't fuck around with grooming a young QB..they need immediate dividends before Christian McCaffrey is spent. Carr could help. His best chance for glory is surely in the NFC. Brees leaving the Saints could open another slot in the NFC south
