Buehler knows he's starting Game 1 in the post, no issues there either

Braves may have blown their best opportunity. They'll always go back to that 3-1 lead if they never get over the hump

Guess we'll see what happens from here. Would like to see Friedman make a trade for a slugging LF....attach Pollock to one of the young arms and get his ass outta here

I don't think there are any slugging LFers

mlb.com lists him in left. Mike Yastrzemski Stats, Fantasy & News | MLB.com
If I recall I think he made the move there midseason. In any case, he can play left, and play it better than AJ.

according to baseball reference, he played 20 innings there last year. He split time between RF and LF in 2019 then apparently split time between RF and CF in 2020

This is pretty long. It's Joc's personal goodbye to the fans and his teammates. Has some really nice things to say about Friedman, Mattingley, Utley and Tommy.

Well worth the read. Pretty rare an athlete leaves a team like this. More often than not they leave scorched earth in their wake. Very classy on Joc's part.

Count me in as a Joc fan for life.

Knowing the Dodgers they might be playing some chess by calculating in the odds that 2021 & 2022 will even be full seasons. You have to figure there’s a good chance they won’t owe Bauer the entirety of his $85M for those 2 years.

At the beginning of the offseason I also mentioned that it looked like there would be some good deals available, and Friedman could look to take advantage. Bauer’s AAV is no joke, but this might be the last time we will ever see a player of Bauer’s caliber, in his prime, sign a 2-year deal.

Something interesting to watch now will be to see how teams react. We got our first glimpse last night when the Braves immediately locked up Ozuna, but there is worry around the league that a number of teams will throw in the towel feeling any hope for a Cinderella season were dashed last night. Clubs that had been rumored to be selling and then backed off, are expected to start talking again while teams that have spent and traded to be competitive are likely going to feel it necessary to make another impactful trade or signing. The Reds have been mentioned as one of the teams that would make the most sense, while the Rockies and D'Backs were others, but it is doubtful they do much since one has a lot of young controllable talent and the other is run by a pack of idiots. Could be interesting to watch unfold in the weeks before the season starts.

There is also belief that teams are going to start beating down the Dodgers door to try to get Gonsolin, May or Urias in trade. I mentioned earlier that this could open an interesting option for the Dodgers in their pursuit of a 3B, but with Kershaw, Price and Bauer all having potential to be gone by the end of the 2022 season, I could see May heading to AAA to work on some of his contact issues with Gonsolin being our 5th starter and Urias filling in the Stripling swingman role.

There was a time, after a much watched interview, when Joc came off like a huge caffone, using the perfect Italian term...or gaffoon, if you prefer the popular dialect...feet up on the table, etc. Pretty void of any decorum or humuilty.
But times moves on, and now he appears to be a gentleman, with some real honest class. Good for him...I truly hope one day, he wears the Dodger Blue once again.

    truly epic farewell
a lot of great stuff in there especially how the Dodger franchise shines as a class act
it's a business no question but common respect is where its at
so long Joc and as they recommended on Dodger's nation its best to read it alone lol

I should add that it is not JUST due to us and what we did. The Braves getting Ozuna was another shot to teams on the outside as it basically reinforced that the Dodgers, Padres and Braves improved this offseason when they were already leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else. The Mets have now started to knock on the door and the Central is a shitshow, but the Cards are likely a head above the rest of the field unless something dramatic happens. The fact that the Dodgers, Braves and Padres have the deepest farm systems in the NL only makes matters worse for everyone else. The Mets may try to do something big before camp starts and I would not be shocked if we weren't done now. There is some speculation that the team has been quietly trying to move Jansen, Kelly and Pollock in recent weeks. I seriously think we start talking to the Reds and Indians more in earnest if the Turner situation does not get resolved. The signing yesterday just adds another useful bullet to pair with Ruiz in trade talks.

I had to go over there and see who was dumb enough to suggest that fucking shit. Holy fuck that is some garbage. The #2 prospect from a year ago(Lux), another was a ROY candidate and shoulda won(Gonsolin), a prospect that EVERYONE is talking about(Busch), a pitching prospect flashing front of the rotation upside(Gray) and one final prospect for good measure with monster upside(Pages). That is so unbelievably fucking stupid and even worse is the amount of people agreeing with it, that I think it gave me cancer.

Who the FUCK recommended that? Has any player ever returned that much firepower? I cannot fathom a trade like that. No possible logic.
