Oh trust me, I'm done with all things Disney, for more reasons than one.

Here's a nice video tribute to The Man... https://www.mlb.com/dodgers/news/mlb-reaction-to-vin-scully-death

When I think of Vinny, with his grace and elegance he spoke every game, one piece of info which he repeated any opportunity that arose was " Uggla means 'owl' in Swedish".
In no demeaning way meant at all, to any degree, it was things like this and "Jeff Kunt" that endeared him to me especially.
Over the years, one got used to his daily broadcasting excellence, and when he said things like this, it just made you realize just how precious a person he was.

That’s the difference between the Padres and Giants for me. I hate both but only respect the Giants.

I don't know when I'll have an hour and a half to watch it, but that's pretty much a must-see.

No, used it as a humorous topic...no hate involved. Sarcasm is not always hatred.
I'll admit only to some aggravation at his adulation for other players who weren't Dodgers on an incessant level.
Comes from loving the Dodgers more than the announcer.

hope the comment was taken in the manner it was meant because i knew it was kind of a thing for you but never knew how serious!
wouldn't change anything if someone here said they hated him for some reason but i would have a hard time understanding why
even Gandi himself had his detractors

have to turn a lot of it off especially when they try to convey cliches and repeat themselves
    always the same isn't it?
people just want to be a part of it

    Interesting FYI, (perhaps...)
The Mahatma had an extremely poor ability to smell. Some kind of ofactory disease or whatever.
He also believed in using human feces as fertilizer...and did. All around his home.
When people came to interview him, many were totally taken by the odor, and vomited.

well that would likely count me amongst his detractors
although you'd have to throw me on the same pile for what i did in sri lanka and i know i've told the story before but i'll try to keep it short
strange land, friends of the family, incredibly spicy food, long farewell and i'm not making it to the hotel in time
locate the "bathroom" to find a toilet and a hose hanging from a corner in a large room and nothing else
panic has already set in so i instantly return to the locals and my family milling about in the foyer
try to make a quick acquisition of all potential ass paper in my wifes purse as undercover as possible but it doesn't matter
not one of the 15 or so people standing around is talking any longer and all eyes are focused on me as i once again disappear into "the room"
relief is instant and as i sit there i consider using the hose in the corner but what if it's their shower and i offend them
besides what am i supposed to do get undressed completely wash my ass and redress???
no i wipe and toss shit paper out the window like Gandi would of and never look back
somewhere on that little island there are people retelling the story behind a bottle of arrack and i hope they laugh a lot since people are literally starving to death there now
sorry for hijacking the Vin thread

    Loved that.

Enberg was overshadowed in the LA market by Vin and Chick, but he was excellent in his own right with the Rams, Angels and UCLA.

one of my favorites and, sadly, too short-lived…

love that the storm turned out to be a fire
strikes me how the art of communicating has been completely lost
to the point where having a conversation w a stranger is like salvation these days
