He was rumored to be the #1 prospect in the draft before his contact issues creeped up. If they correct his swing, he could be an elite CF'er and cornerstone player for this franchise. Really hope he has a chip on his shoulder and pushes to better himself. Could also be a fast mover if everything falls into place.
Kendall is more likely imo, I don't think Peters will amount to much more than a 4th OF'er unless he can make a change in his approach without sacrificing too much of that power. He is striking out A FUCK TON
That is a lot for the Hi-A hitter friendly environment. Would love to see him correct it as it was not nearly the issue last season as it is this year, so hopefully it was something they tweaked and he can get more comfortable as he adjusts.
He's only 21 so he's got some time Kendall also 21yrs old It'll be interesing, not that their gunning for the same position or anything like that Hoping both make it and present the club with more " problems "
LOL, I was a fan of Werth until he got into it with Rockies fans who started a "Werth-less" chant. Dude acted like a giant baby and kept flipping off all the fans from LF all the way down the 3B line.
Per TheScore.com Report: Padres asked Dodgers for Verdugo in Hand trade talks Jonah BirenbaumJul 13 2017, 4:53 PM With just under three weeks to go until the non-waiver trade deadline, the San Diego Padres' asking price for left-handed reliever - and newly minted All-Star - Brad Handremains high. In trade discussions with the Los Angeles Dodgers regarding Hand, the Padres asked for top prospect Alex Verdugo, a 21-year-old outfielder hitting .346/.416/.463 with three homers, 18 doubles, and eight stolen bases in 79 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2017, sources told Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports. Though the Dodgers aren't likely to accept a deal with that framework, the division-leaders could use a reliable left-hander down in the bullpen, as both Luis Avilan and Grant Dayton, who's been on the disabled list since July 3 due to neck stiffness, have struggled this year. PLAYER GP ERA FIP WHIP OPS VS. LHB Luis Avilan 37 4.30 3.06 1.65 .664 Grant Dayton 27 3.63 4.71 1.12 .466 Adam Liberatore 4 2.70 1.95 1.50 .800 Meanwhile, Hand, who's also drawn interest from the New York Yankees and Washington Nationals, shined in the first half of the season, posting a career-best 2.30 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 42 appearances while managing the ninth-highest strikeout rate (32.1 percent) among qualified National League relievers. Since debuting with the Padres in 2016, the 27-year-old has accrued more WAR (2.7) than all but six relievers in the majors, authoring a 2.71 ERA with a 3.49 strikeout-to-walk ratio over his last 124 outings.
KLaw mid season top 50 11. Walker Buehler, RHP, Los Angeles Dodgers The Dodgers have been appropriately aggressive with Buehler, who is 22 with multiple plus pitches and plus command but is probably going to hit an innings cap later this summer since it's his first full season pitching after 2015 Tommy John surgery. The only real knock here is durability -- between the operation and his slight build, there's some reason to think he's not a 200-inning starter, but his stuff is just so good and his feel so advanced that it seems like nitpicking. ***** 12. Alex Verdugo, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers It's an unconventional approach, but it's working -- Verdugo is hitting .346/.416/.463 as the youngest regular in the Pacific Coast League (Triple-A), ranking fourth among qualifiers in average and OBP. He's going to force the Dodgers' hand at some point, now that Chris Taylor's bat is coming back to earth. ***** 28. Yadier Alvarez, RHP, Los Angeles Dodgers Alvarez ranks up there with Kopech among starters with the best stuff in the minors, but Alvarez doesn't miss as many bats as he should and his conditioning has been a problem this year.
He and Sickels are I believe the two ultra high guys on Verdugo. He bases a lot of his info aside from his own eye on what he hears from scouts and execs from teams around the league. Nice to see him so high on a couple of our guys.
