Or a good one. The family saw him in my last Dodger game I attended in 2017 ... we heard him say "F**K YEAH" as he rounded 1B after he hit one out. We were in the loge. Dude has a set of lungs on him.

It's a 1-year deal, so getting a chance to prove himself might have been more important than the dollar figure. If he can prove to be even halfway competent against LHP, then he could get a nice payday next offseason, and it's clear he wasn't going to get the opportunity to prove that in LA.

Maybe the FO got sick of Joc coming into the season looking like a tub of lard.

On the other hand, I feel Joc is way less versatile than Kike was for the team, so if Kike is gone, the FO probably wasnt going to stick its neck out for Joc.

Kike will be missed, greatly. At times he had me pulling my hair out. At times he had me ecstatically jumping out of my chair. He knew how to get the team and the fans fired up. He had some questionable habits and nuances. But he made Bumgarner his bkitch like no other. And he played an important role in ending the 32-year drought. His emotional reaction after the final out was representative of all of us.

    He will be missed, greatly.

The offseason trend of teams giving up pennies for really good players continues...

It is too! Rockies owner supposedly told FO that they’re not allowed to deal with us.

If the Rockies are eating $50M that means the remaining contract is 6/$150M... what Springer just signed for.
