To get us through this time, maybe we can post some videos of our favorite Dodger (or any MLB) moments, no matter how big or small.
I adored this guy. That replay angle of his opposite field HR at 0:32 gets me every time. What a swing. Too young to remember 1995 so this was my first Dodger postseason. Tom Breneman's voice takes me back to the late 90s-early 2000s. He called Finley's HR and the Bartman game too.
Manny bobblehead night. At the time it just felt like true magic was happening for us, and that’s not a hyperbole.
And the Loney GS. The silence it what I remember the most. I’ve never seen so many people die inside so quickly... and it was the middle of Game 1.
Something I've noticed while watching clips...Rick Honeycutt is there for most of them. In an era of ridiculous front office, coaching, and player turnover for this organization, he was a key piece for us during the following defining moments/eras: Postseason runs in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 The 4 consecutive HR game The graduation, prime, and demise of the Jacksonville 5. Mannywood The Loney Slam Ethier's walk-off bonanza Matt Stairs The Matt Holiday nut shot Guggenheim Takeover The Adrian Gonzalez trade Puig-mania The 42-8 Magic Castle Dodgers The Uribe bomb Vin's farewell walk-off The "Absolute Madness" 2017 Dodgers Turner's NLCS walk-off Multiple CY Young winners, ERA titles, etc. The development, graduation, and peak of Clayton Kershaw AND SO MANY MORE moments in between If the Dodgers would have won a couple of championships in the last 10-14 years (especially 2013 and 2017), Rick Honeycutt would have had one of the most exciting, interesting and decorated coaching careers in Dodger history. 2017 Astros robbed Rick and Andre, man.
Pinch hitters deluxe Manny Mota and Vic Davalillo doing what they did best. Never realized the four HRs in a row were hit with no one out.
I wish it was easier to post pics... or maybe I’m just an idiot... but. quarantine time resulted in puzzle time. 3 days later, we got to the final piece of a 1000 piece Dodger puzzle only to be missing the final fucking piece ... WTF.. so typical. Can a Dodger fan catch a fucking break!!!! Gaaaahhhhh we even choke in family game time.. The missing piece is now labeled Kershaw in our house. At least we have the Grateful Dead playing in the background! Done
No video, but what a call. Sometimes I wish I was younger, but I'm damned glad I heard this one live.
While other kids were copying Jeter's unnecessary jump throws, I wanted to emulate Beltre's barehanded off-balance throws to 1B. Sucks he didn't play his entire career with us. Imagine if we kept Piazza, Konerko, Pedro, Beltre, and Utley signed when we drafted him. Would have had a couple great seasons of overlap with those careers.
Hold on.. CF. Butler 2B. Utley C. Piazza 3B. Beltre LF. Konerko 1B. Karros RF. Mondesi SS. Offerman P. Pedro
