Hill is going game 4. It is a lot of time off but I wouldn’t be surprised if Hill is used in games 1-3 tbh. He’s essentially an emergency long man. I think that’s some of the thinking behind Hill in game 4 and not pushing Ryu back... Hill is more flexible to come out of the pen
In a year where the FO decides to cut costs and reset the luxury tax..back to the World Series. :dizzy::dizzy::dizzy:
Year in and year out with Sale. Always wilts. Years ago scouts had questions about his delivery and if it'd work against him long term or later in seasons..big picture, stuff may be coming to fruition. Wouldn't shock me, though, if LAD were just what the doctor ordered for him to get on track
Just concerned about CK on short rest, and Ryu playing in Fenway. Hill may actually be the de facto Game 1 starter because I can’t see Roberts risking too many pitches on CK’s arm so early in the series.
HATE RYU AT FENWAY!!!!!!!!!!! Scoring 1st on the road is a MUST. Weather is a HUGE factor in Bawston and the Sox hitters are better at executing than we showed during the reg. season. Going to have to wait another fucking year I predict. 1977 and 1978 redux.
Alexander replaces Ferguson on the roster. I’m gonna guess they like how Alexander’s stuff matches up better? Idk
Jackie Bradley Jr OPS'd .717 this year, which is right at his career average. He had 13 HRs all season. He has a nice OPS this postseason, but still just hitting .200, he just happened to run into a couple. I don't want to go all Jeffres on this one, but all signs point to some luck from a small sample size. Bold prediction: Jackie Bradley Jr is a non-factor in this WS.
Ferguson could be hurt or just worn down, might be why we didn't see him in the Urias spot in Game 7.
Very good point. His velocity might be dipping and maybe this rest was a good chance for Alexander to work on some things and get his velocity up. I’d be worried about Alexander tbh but at the same time, I’d really like to be able to try and get a ground ball in some pivotal moments, especially at Fenway, and Alexander is our best shot at getting one
Red Sox are so scared of our lefties they added Drew Pomeranz (who had an ERA over 6 this year) to their roster. He’ll be a LOOGY only... still does okay against lefties but nothing too exciting It just really does set up well to start all righties and then bring in lefties against their bullpen.
.100/.250/.200 That's Grandal over 85 postseason ABs. And believe it or not, the Milwaukee series actually increased those numbers. It's actually worse when you factor in the strikeouts with runners at third or the GIDP. Then there's the passed balls and errors. How is it that this guy is still even on the roster? Not saying they should leave him off the World Series roster now, because obviously he and Barnes are the only two that know the pitchers, but why didn't they trade him during the offseason or after his big preseason? Very poor planning by management, in my opinion.
