Good stuff tonight! Would've liked to see CK get the win, but nevertheless he got in the history books and now that's behind him, and the team got a W. Important win because now May can't lose the series tomorrow.

Hard for me to recall an atmosphere like that for a individual accomplishment. Might have been why Kershaw was off last night. The Giant hater in me was irked to no end that a Giant scrub like Slater lit him up. That Kershaw joined Walter Johnson Bob Gibson as the only pitcher to K 3,000 with the same team is heady company.

Glad his teammates got him off the hook for L. Some nice ABs in the 9th inning rally. Edman (hitting like shit lately), Kim and Smith (could have been rung up) working walks. Mookie with the sac fly and of course Mr. Fred with the game winner.

Last time Max went down like that (no homo) it was the final game of the 2021 season. Hope it isn't a similar result. Agree with those that posted (and Kershaw mentioned in the post game) what the fuck was Taylor doing stealing third there. Idiot. Great play by Max putting the tag on him and holding unto the ball.

Forgot to give the much maligned (deservedly so) Conforto some credit. Great catch against the wall and started the 9th inning rally. Made two nice plays the night before. That said, he's still caca.

Yeah. Egotistical fukhead move to steal there.

Hope Taylor gets a May fastball in the earhole tonight ... except he's a pussy on the mend after that steal attempt.

Only way May hits him is if he's aiming for the outside corner.

I'd rather someone other than Dave update us. Either it would be bad news, or Roberts would downplay it and then Muncy is out until 2027.

    update on my prediction…
roberts will say tonight it’s a strain and max is day-to-day
then in a week or so the team will announce he’s having surgery and done for the year

Calling Ruiz up instead of Freeland is, I suppose, a good sign. Or it just fits perfectly into your prediction above, meant to sell us on Max being day-to-day.

Numerous sources are quoting the Dodgers as calling it a "left bone bruise." Which doesn't really say much except sure enough, it leads us to believe it's not that bad. But he is going on the IL. Rojas at third tonight.

With Muncy out, the Dodgers could really use Conforto's bat to wake up. And to those that say he's been hitting better lately, yes that's technically correct, but his season avg is .176 and over the last 10 games he's still at a putrid .189. Batting him 6th tonight is a joke - he should be hitting 9th and let Edman or Miggy with the hot bat hit 6th (remember that thing called "momentum" Davey?). I hope he's at least asked Max if he could borrow his glasses for a few days.

Hoping Conforto reads this as I believe they do.

Edman has quietly been mediocre/shitty since coming off the IL.

From the Athletic story on the Muncy injury......

Kiké Hernández is the likely internal option, filling the same kind of role he did last summer when Muncy missed several months with a strained oblique and displaced rib. Hernández has a .652 OPS on the season and is largely on the roster for his versatility; keeping him to one position could open up some playing opportunities for Korean rookie Hyeseong Kim at second base and center field, and could lead to Miguel Rojas expanding his duties from his current part-time role.

The Dodgers also have top infield prospect Alex Freeland, who has an .836 OPS in 360 plate appearances this season with Triple-A Oklahoma City, with 10 of his 75 starts coming at third base. Freeland was recently dealing with a thumb issue and isn’t on the 40-man roster, which could be the reason why Los Angeles opted to bring up Ruiz instead in the short term. The organization is already expecting somewhat of a roster crunch in the coming weeks along with the deadline, with Tyler Glasnow on a rehab assignment and Blake Snell and Blake Treinen now both back to facing hitters.

Los Angeles also added another infielder to their 40-man roster on Thursday, claiming CJ Alexander off waivers from the New York Yankees

Okay, my interpretation is that this CJ Alexander stiff (.320 OPS over 25 career ABs) was signed because they could cut him with no loss once someone else returns from injury, which can't be said about Freeland if they were to add him to the 40-man.

What they need to do before the trade deadline is swap Outman for a prospect and that opens a spot on the 40. He's been able to work his OPS back up to .940 and with the second-most HRs in the PCL, he has to have some value now. But at age 28 his value is fleeting so it may be now or never.

unrelated (and diablo mentioned him the other day too) but they need to figure something out on bobby miller
a couple years younger than outman and his trade value would be minimal
shame to give up on that arm, but maybe being a starter isn’t his destiny
doesn’t seem like the sharpest tool in the shed either
could always use an (effective) flamethrower in relief
    why not try him there?
    just my .02

Yes, he too is occupying a spot on the 40-man, but like you say he probably doesn't carry much trade value and the team's not likely ready to move on. I'm all for trying him out of the pen, what's there to lose?
