Shohei bobs and weaves with little command (especially the fastball) through six no-hit innings. We knew he could hit (leadoff HR) and pitch, but we didn't know he had such command of the English language. Nice F bomb.

Resorted to the long ball for three of the four runs. Hope Pages didn't hurt anyone in the lower stands. That was a laser.

Another day, another injury. Teo blew a tire and didn't look good. Roberts said he "tested good." Translation......they're going to amputate his leg later this week.

Depth will be tested again and it showed well last night. Call with a RBI single and great catch in right. Kim with a hit and another great play in LF. Freeland also pitched in with a great play diving at the first base bag. One thing didn't change with Freeland. He still got the weak ground ball to 2B down pat. Love his play in the field. At the plate.......not so much.

Love to see them give Ward a shot. He's earned it. Hoping it's not Fitzgerald or Alec Thomas. Tibbs would require a move on the 40 man roster.

Horrible send by Dino last night. Smith had barely touched the 3B bag when ball reached the left fielder.

Dustin May had a no hitter going. I know there's not a lot of love for the guy around here but i wish him well. guy has a young family and is/was trying to do the best career wise for them.i'm rooting for him. at least until he comes up against the Dodgers.

 

Shohei picked a tough year to try and win a Cy Young. I don't see it happening unless some other contenders get hurt and reduce their innings.

 

The guy , imo, flat out sucks. He may be interesting for some, have been around for ages, been a swell guy in the clubhouse, but he sucks, over and over. It's not isolated, it's a thing.

 

Well there's an old saying... " shake a tree and lots of good gloves will fall out of it...but not so many good hitters". Both Kim and Freeland are as good as any Dodger out there with the leather, but it's the bats that are questionable.
The bat and the leather will just not come along and progress simultaneously at the same rate. Catching a ball and throwing a ball is the same at every level- natural ability.
But hittng MLB pitching seperates players and their futures.
...and there's the rub...
