the most irritating part of last night's ass tanner implosion is that davey will continue trotting him out as a closer. anyone watching knows the guy is fragile and couldn't stand up to the pressure last year. he's not cut out for the job. let him come in 6th or 7th and allow real men to do the job late.
guys like Hurt and Klein should be getting the ball w Vesia until/if Diaz returns this year. you can't get blood from a turnip and tanny isn't going to hold up for whatever reason going on in between his ears.

Let one get away last night. Not just the Tanner Scott implosion, but pissing away several scoring chances (2-11 RISP).

Scott was ahead of every hitter. Made Harper look sick with two sliders away, then dropped a fastball into his happy zone. He was bound to have a shitty outing. Just this doesn't snowball into him morphing back into 2025 Scott.

Looking like the organization's patience with Roki is paying off. Next step is to get a little deeper into games. He was pulled after a check swing infield single and a soft contact single by Turner. A case could have been made to leave him in. Well done by Vesia to get out of that inning.

Tucker is approaching Conforto territory. Major disappointment so far.

The Pages play at the plate was a strange one. Looked like he missed the plate and the review determined he wasn't tagged. Question might be why the Phils couldn't appeal. In my mind that couldn't occur because the home plate umpire called the play safe. Obviously he thought Pages touched the plate.

Some nice contributions from the bench. Call with the RBI single and Espinal with a sac fly. Not sure I've seen a play like the one Espinal made going to his left and spinning to make the throw. Thought for sure that throw was heading to stands.

 

Still a bunch of light hitting turds more often than not. Score 15 one series against the Rox, and struggle like baby turtles trying to get to the sea without getting picked off for the next teams for a week.
I don't know if it's ever going to gel this season.
At 37-21 now, I guess if it ever did, it would be remarkable.

I guess someone my age shouldn't have a hero thing going...but thinking about his story, it might be Sasaki on this team. I liked him from the get go.

i know what you mean. only owned two player jerseys in my life. the first was Robert Horry when he was a Laker. the second i just bought and that was Miggy Rojas. sometimes we still geek on individual guys.
