I know there's a difference between what I want to happen and what will happen. I'm sure they'll wait a minimum of 2 years to see if he opts out. But if he keeps underperforming at the plate and in the field, they just can't let it go four. They understand the business side of winning too well to let that happen.

to be fair either of those plays in right would have been amazing. still he has to get to one or both. the one he laid out for seemed like he was making it look a little harder than it was. it was a tough play but was it that tough? only he and other right fielders like mookie know for sure.
the triple looked like he started his bad jump from mid right center instead of a mid rf or a little deeper against a guy that's slugging the ball all series. was that his choice or did davey call his position? who knows but given the intensity davey brings to the details most days i have to believe he probably placed himself there. i think the ball hit halfway up the wall. it was struck but that's gotta be caught imo.
watching Ward in lf he has made some above average plays and looked better than what i was anticipating given his low defensive expectations. sucker just looks like he's mailing it in on D and O. wtf for real AF what were you thinking with this guy? did he fool the entire league or is he as average as he appears?
the guys going to play unless he's injured. don't wish for things like that but man i'd rather see one of the hungry young guys make some mistakes and act like they want to be here in rf

At this rate opt out isn't happening. No one would be insane enough to match or exceed what the Dodgers are paying him.

The guy (Flores) who hit the bloop double was the same guy who hit it 430+ over the left centerfield fence. Would think he was playing Flores to pull somewhat. Ball was hit in no man's land. He's playing a solid RF. At the plate.........

I've seen enough of the Pirates the past two days to last me a while. Bunch of fucking pests. That 5-0 lead never felt secure.

Sending get well cards to Wrobo and Sho. Enough with the medical updates from our fearless leader. To borrow from the great Walter Sobchak, "you're out of your element, Dave. You're out of your fucking element."

Seems kind of nit picky when they score 8 runs, but it could have been much more. 10 hits, 7 BBs, 3 HBPs and just 3-12 RISP.

Nice bounce back effort for Dreyer. Would like to see them get more than one out of Vesia, especially with how uneven many of his bullpen mates have been. Henriquez' line looked worse than it was. He was victimized by a couple of bloop doubles. Scott finished the last four outs with ease. Nice to see Scott set Horowitz down for the last out. Missed his bat flip after that K.

Can't bitch about soft contact when the Dodgers capitalized on a bloop double by Tucker and a dribbling double down the LF line by Rushing.

Credit to Call for working a walk and scoring with a great slide at the plate.

Some good ABs for Mookie last night.

Some stupid baseball, too. Anyone see Pages going back to the bag to tag up on Tucker's two out bloop double? Another was Rojas swinging 3-0 after the hitter in front of him walked. That was insane. Fortunately he came though with the sac fly later in the AB.

Correct, an opt out is very unlikely right now. Hope is that his numbers improve the rest of this season and next, and that he feels the long-term deal he can lock in at 30 would be significantly better than the one he'd get at 32.

Hard to believe that about a year ago this time he was as good a hitter as there was in the game. Then came the injury.

of course there's the inherent pressure of LA and the champions. would have thought hiding in that lineup would have been a net benefit. guess not. although it doesn't really look like he's pressing. kind of the exact opposite.

I thought as well (and I bet that he did too) that he could hide among the other stars, but thinking about Conforto last year, no. Expectations are so high for this team, we fans expect excellence 1-9.

Yeah, the '27 Dodgers must be spoken about in the same tones as the '27 Yankees.
I would like to see that, indeed.
And we have our Bambino, in his own unique form.

Yes very fortunately. I guess he got the green light, but is he a green light 3-0 type hitter in that circumstance ?
    Not in my world...

We need to sweep the Sox to help the Tigers crawl back into the division race

I'm sure that was Rojas acting on his own.

Never saw Vargas succeeding as an everyday player. Fooled me. Never liked his swing.

Roberts said he is optimistic that Ohtani will be ready to play Friday night when the Dodgers meet the White Sox in Chicago to open a three-game series between division leaders.

    The kiss of death.

I cheered as loudly as you did when that happened last fall...but he swung at ball 4 Thursday night, in my opinion.
I think it was Roberts anyway.

Could be a similar series to the three games in Pittsburgh. The White Sox can slug.
