    Dave Roberts acknowledged that a stint on the IL is a possibility for Will Smith:

    "We're starting to talk about that (going on the IL)... He just still doesn't feel right."

    Roberts added that the Dodgers are still evaluating the situation and that Smith remains day-to-day.

    The pitching mismatch (at least on paper) didn't quite materialize. Well done by Lauer. A couple of solo HRs and nothing else.

    Dodger hitters made Skenes work (103 pitches) in his six innings.

    Then, with apologies to Led Zeppelin, the levee broke in the 7th and the game was over.

    Congrats to the hitting machine called Mr. Fred. Short stroke line drive to CF. Prototype Freddie hit.

    Love that Rushing is getting the hang of the challenge. What I don't get was that slide. Love the old school aggressiveness, but that was just stupid. Wasn't even close. Not sure who has the lower baseball IQ, Rushing or Pages.

    I didn't mind the Pittsburgh broadcast as I'd feared. Matter of fact, it was funny how they commented that Freddie was choking up. They said it three times & boom ... he delivered. One of the guys then said something like "the Pirates need to hit like that" ... gotta admire honesty in broadcasting.
