what do you think of DSP having an option where if you post something like this the forum software AI will mock an image up to accompany your concept?
shit im already starting one at the rear of my bookstore and i been waiting to bring the alpha site live on DSP since 2015 but "basketball reasons" i blame david sterns influence on the entire league at this point im working on something new on my own no more xenforo or forum software at all its no longer needed in the age of LLMs as long as you can whisper the sweet nothings that make the LLM's go AI AI AI
Weekly update. I’m going to try a different format this time, simply working straight down the list of prospects, in order. NNSLU = nothing new since last update Keep in mind, Single-A and High-A ended last week (Single-A Rancho lost both playoff games and is done). Double-A ended today (Tulsa is in the playoffs). Triple-A has one week remaining. Since AAA OKC doesn’t have much pertinent prospect value at the moment, this may be the last weekly update. 1. De Paula – Bumped up to AA for the week, played four games that he probably would rather forget. 0 for 18. 2. Hope – Also got bumped up to AA for the week. While De Paula had been blazing hot to finish the High-A season, Hope was ice cold. But this week in Tulsa, he went 6 for 19, 2 doubles. Go figure. 3. Freeland – doing normal Freeland stuff in AAA. 4. Quintero – NNSLU 5. Sirota – NNSLU 6. Ferris – This week’s start: 5 IP, 3H, 1ER, 3 BB, 4 SO. Ends the regular season with a solid 10-7 record, 3.86 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, 135 K’s/66 BBs in 126 innings. But to fully appreciate his progress this season, you have to look at this split: First half, 6.14 ERA. Second half, 2.05 ERA. 7. Morales – 1 for 7 with a HR over the two playoff games. 8. Tibbs – His short tenure with the Dodgers has been quite the roller coaster ride. Started with a hot bat following the trade, went frigid for a few weeks, and caught fire again at the end. This week: 9 for 22, 2 doubles, 2 HRs, 5 RBIs. His regular season stats with the Drillers: .269 AVG, .900 OPS, 7 HRs over 134 ABs. 9. River Ryan – did not play this season 10. Ko – 2 for 7, including a double and HR in Rancho’s two playoff games. Tough time after his callup, but he made some noise in the playoffs. 11. Lindsey – NNSLU 12. Varga – NNSLU 13. Serwinowski – Great performance overall since the trade… except for his final start. 3 IP, 6H, 3ER, 2BB, 4SO. 14. Root – Has not played since drafted this year. 15. Davalan – NNSLU 16. Zazueta – NNSLU 17. Copen – One final ugly outing for 2025. I won’t even bother with the numbers. He had such strong performance in Apr, May, June, and July… then completely fell off a cliff in August and just got worse in September. There’s got to be more to the story than my “depth perception” theory, but I don’t know what that is. 18. Harlan – 1 for 8 in Rancho’s two playoff losses. 19. Tunink – 1 for 2 in the playoffs. 20. Martin – NNSLU 21. Jang – NNSLU 22. Leiter – Has not played since drafted this year. 23. Heubeck – NNSLU 24. George - NNSLU 25. Miller (Noah, SS for OKC) – 3 for 14, double, HR 26. Elkins - NNSLU 27. Ehrhard – Final week with Tulsa was 5 for 17, HR. His numbers since trade day: .282 AVG/.857 OPS, 7 doubles, a triple, 5 HRs over 131 ABs. Once again, he and Tibbs for May is looking pretty good right about now. 28. Wright - NNSLU 29. West - NNSLU 30. Wagner – NNSLU Vidourek (unranked) – 1 for 8, triple during the two playoff games. Final numbers since draft day: .313 AVG/.841 OPS over 67 ABs. He and Davalan seem like good value picks at the moment.
Sad about Copen. You had me hopeful. Maybe time improves things. Will he play winter ball, do you think?
No indication yet, but I'm kind of glad to see the season end for him. His free-fall was only accelerating with each start, and I've got to think his confidence is completely shot. The walks were an issue all year, but for the first few months in High-A and even after he moved to AA, he was able to effectively pitch around them. Suddenly that changed, and he started giving up a lot of runs. Did the league catch up to him? Did something else change with his mechanics? Is it something fixable, or is his handicap going to make it impossible to progress past this level? I guess those questions need to be answered to determine what's next. Really sucks though to have your career effectively end with a line drive to the face, which ATM seems to be the outcome. I guess every pitcher that steps on the mound takes that risk.
Dougie needs to stop editing his clips like he's making a Bruckheimer flick .... https://youtube.com/shorts/blBEMuOZuyY?si=B8NSfo6QSPk7DWJG
Most likely he's doing what all YT "influencers" do; he compacts a seven-course meal into a drive-thru "eat it in the parking lot" equivalent. And as you say, it's unwatchable. But it gets clicks. More's the pity.
I knew BoSox fans were aholes but this is harsh by those standards... https://bosoxinjection.com/red-sox-...y-trade-in-full-force-as-dodgers-reap-rewards Regarding May4Tibbs ... May's trip to the IL to likely end his season is unfortunate, but the trade was a disaster even before his injury. Not only is Tibbs a severe overpay for a struggling pitcher who's never pitched more than 56 innings in his career before this year, but Boston should've had bigger plans for him as part of the Devers trade. The Red Sox could've used him as part of a trade for elite pitching this offseason or as another part of their outfield youth movement. Instead, the Dodgers fleeced the Red Sox again because Breslow got desperate with the clock ticking. Also... Tibbs didn't get off to the best start with Double-A Tulsa, but he found his way in September. The outfielder slashed .269/.407/.493 with a .900 OPS over 36 games with the Drillers, and he batted .357/.460/.786 in 11 games in September. He clocked eight extra-base hits, including four home runs, in his last eight games
And it's actually worse than that. Dodgers also got Ehrhard: .282 AVG/.857 OPS, 7 doubles, a triple, 5 HRs over 131 ABs.
The jury is still out on Tibbs and likely will be for a while. But could you imagine if he ends up becoming an impact player at the big league level? Boston would be seething and SF would have a constant reminder that he was a first round pick for them. Double the pleasure for our money.
And one more thing... I think Boston did us a favor taking May off our hands. It'd be hard to DFA him, but he didn't want to go to the pen and clearly didn't have a spot in the rotation anymore.
eh everybody has to play their hand and i believe he tried to push for that contract instead of his reality don't hate the guy but not missing him either
Wanted to get a better understanding of the Arizona Fall League and how it works, so I read up a little. Basically, every MLB team sends seven of their prospects to the AFL to continue their development for an additional six weeks. From this player pool, there are six teams constructed, and they compete against each other in October and November, including playoffs and a championship game. The Dodgers prospects will be combined with prospects from the Braves, Cardinals, White Sox and Jays - their team name is the Glendale Desert Dogs. It says each team sends their "top" prospects, but the group that the Dodgers organization is assigning to this league includes a couple pitchers that I'm not familiar with as well as players that are not top-ranked in their system. Here are the seven: P Justin Chambers - 2025 rookie ball and single-A, ERA 3.09 P Hyun-Seok Jang - #21 prospect, 2025 single-A, ERA 4.65 P Payton Martin - #20 prospect, 2025 rookie ball and single-A, ERA 4.32 P Jakob Wright - #28 prospect, 2025 single-A, ERA 3.20 P Alex Makarewich - 2025 single-A and high-A, ERA 3.07 SS Logan Wagner - #30 prospect, 2025 high-A, hit .216/.740 OF Josue De Paula - #1 prospect, 2025 high-A and double-A, hit .250/.791 (0-18 in his one week in Tulsa brought OPS below .800) OF Kendall George - #24 prospect, 2025 high-A, hit .295/.779 I know that's eight... I assume one is an alternate/reserve player. I looked at the history of this league and it seems it's uncommon for a prospect to be assigned more than once. Corey Seager actually did it two years. Games start Oct 7.
My old boss from Servite lives there now & goes to AFL games almost exclusively. He detests the DBacks & gave up on MLB costs & wokeness but as a former minor league pitcher in the 80s, he's partial to the fall league since it's cheaper & it isn't 100+ outside. I'll ask him to write up some of his games to share here. I hope he agrees to that. He might even agree to take some video of Josue or others playing & upload it to YT.
