Zach Ehrhard had 4 hits last night for AAA OKC. He had 2 RBIs, scored twice & is hitting .556 so far with an OPS of 1.267. Obviously, a short sample size, but James Tibbs III also had a home run & a double. Dustin May is not even with the Red Sox anymore, but had a 5.40 ERA for them, and gave up 6 runs in 4 innings for the Cardinals in his first outing with St. Louis.

Of all the trades the Dodgers have made, this one might end up being the most lopsided.

Nick Senzel...Have a NIGHT! Senzel had 3 hits, including a GRAND SLAM, and he had 7 RBIs. Senzel raised his average to .364 in 1 game!

Those "results" are phenomenal, obviously, but the next at bat after his grand slam, he took a 1-2 the other way for a base hit. That is a SUPER PRO thing to do, and, in my eyes, was just as impressive as his Granny! Shows that he's trying to be a GREAT hitter, and then, sometimes, he hits some home runs.

Lots of guys like Nick, who are fighting for a spot, somehow, some way, on the Dodgers roster. So much competition, more AAAA-type guys than I can ever remember.

Unfortunately he followed it with an 0-5, 3 k's today - ouch!. Still, his stats since the trade overall have been good.

people dont really know how far East LA goes and where its going
everyone just thinks the heart of LA is where the tall towers are
but our East LA goes all the way!
sure it still smells a little country roads
    but its where you belong
because when the Empire comes do your door
its coming to take you home!

city of Los Angeles have 5 boroughs just like New York
sure LA city grew fastest, then the south rose with the tides
followed by Hollywood taking the westside
leaving the northern expanse to the middle class
for sure the real estate in the center, the south, and the west dries
the north is the place but once you get past Santa Clarita are you still from LA?
because past Santa Clarita there aint nothing till Bakersfield and then Fresno
i know that people commute from Ventura or Santa Clarita or Lancaster to LA
but do people commute daily from Fresno or Bakersfield to work in LA?
shit, thats a longer commute than TJ to LA!

so when the Empire comes for you dont worry be happy
dont shed any teardrops during the massive attack
because your history books dont know what happened to the Maya
the Lords of Illusion they call them because poof they vanished into thin air!
leaving their central city and all its wondrous towers of beautifully painted concrete
horrific scenes of chaos, death, and destruction painted upon the walls
frightful thing for the fighters, rogues, mages and clerics arriving from Ivers coasts
coincidentally when all of the Brew boys were getting persecuted and hanged
all because they wouldnt take the holy water or much less bring home the bacon!

but wait this story was about LA
LA PINTA, LA NINA, Y TU PINCHE MADRE LA SANTA MARIA

    oh yeah the Maya
they dont have magic powers of illusion guys thats silly goose talk
and you know who the type that likes to transform into gooses to rape the geeses
we all know what really happened to the Pipil of the land of flowers
the purple Pipil just took a couple steps back behind the treeline and disappeared
    in the bush

the towers wont be able to give you any comfort or safety
on the contrary their shadows only provide grim foreboding
and no matter how large your dragons hoard of gold is it wont save you
in fact the more you think you are secure the more this applies

~he who laughs last is just a hand in the bush~

    cmon boyos!
or else we all gonna be back living like London Dodgers
watch out for the ghosts and goblins driving that trolley!

and before you take this up the Aesir and develop an Asynjury like the Philistines
you should remember that the Pipil and the Douche are the same people
and wherever you are you are in land of the Douches pouring down through the South Gate
so when you are in the Empire of the Ass orient yourself north of the 10
and a little west of the 15 and you will find yourself in the heart of Oss
where you will be greeted as a citizen of the city of Oz by all of the Esses and Essas
nestled right beneath the Uplands where the Woods live long and prosper
the piney, the birches, the elm and the ash and of course the holy oak and even the yew
without the yew how would we make bows to fight our enemies afar?
luckily the yew is toxic and make great arrows too boot
by Jacobs Achilles and little Saint Iago's ghost!

but if you cant see the forest for trees dont take my word for it doc!
maybe you want to hear it from that wacky old black duck
get on the train before you get left on the shores of Vanaheim
but if you can make it through Azusa and keep going you will fine the Red Hills of Cuca Monga
LA CUCARACHA, LA CUCARACHA.... all aboard the train of the Cucos and Cucas
you know, the Rucos and Rucas just dont call them raca or its Cu Chulain time!
and if you still dont get it ill keep it copacetic until you learn to accept it
then you know and i dont gotta remind you of the hounds of the big dog
you already know about Chuey and the Millenium

in this crazy whirl the lives of Tree people dont amount to a hill of greens be they emerald or jaded
if folks keep livin la vida Wilshire Blvd they gonna fall straight into the La Brea tar pits
and you wont even know it because its gonna feel so nice and lukewarm down there in the swamp

like the drops falling from the sky
is how close the Empire is to you

    Vin was always money.

WAR would have been a lot kinder to Pedro if he didn't use a frying pan playing in the field.

I looked it up, and sure enough, Pedro's WAR in 1987 was 4.7 -- just about the 5 that Vinny quoted. Who knew?

1466 career ABs for the Reds and all he could muster was a .662 OPS. That's not going to fly for a corner infielder. Yeah, Senzel (age 30), Jack Suwinski (27), Ryan Fitzpatrick (31), and Ryan Ward (28) will likely make some headlines for OKC this year, but barring multiple injuries at one position on the big league roster, they're not likely to move any higher.

Jeff Passan: The Pittsburgh Pirates are calling up Konnor Griffin, the No. 1 prospect in baseball, ahead of Friday's home opener. He'll start at shortstop. And if he remains with the team the rest of the season, they're eligible to receive a draft pick through the Prospect Promotion Incentive

    https://x.com/JeffPassan/status/2039715063330726245

Some organizations are such dogshit that MLB has to put in rules to try to get those orgs from purposely holding down their prospects so they don't have to pay them
But the Dodgers are ruining baseball
    GTFOH
Excited to watch the Pirates game tomorrow – is that the first time that has ever been said by anybody?

I was reading up on Griffin and it got me thinking. He certainly has the talent - a prospect that's at that level that few reach. Kudos to the Pirates for making good use of their high picks - first Skenes and then Griffin. Let's see if they can open their wallet and build a top team around them.

But the 19 year-old's rise from being drafted in 2024 out of HS to the big leagues today was lightning fast. Last year, he went from A to A+ to AA, and then started this season in AAA. Little more than one full year and he's broken into the Pirates roster. Part of that is due to his talent, and part of it is certainly due to the Pirates' overall weakness in their minors and on their big league team.

I compare it to the Dodgers system, particularly to their logjam of outfielders. This is their #1 prospect De Paula's fifth season in the minors, and he's only at AA. It's Hope's fourth season, also still in AA. Even George is in his fourth season. Maybe they'd be in AAA if the Red Sox didn't generously stock the OKC outfield with Tibbs and Ehrhard. Of course, the Dodgers major league outfield is relatively set, barring injury, so who knows if/when either of those two will get called up. Then in high-A, Sirota and Quintero have both already proven themselves at that level and would likely be up in AA if not for the bottle neck there. Sirota, age 22 due to having played college ball, is relatively old for high-A. When will he and Quintero get their chance to prove they can succeed at higher levels?

I see some trades later this year. I like all these guys and would like to see them get their shot for the Dodgers, but obviously there's not room for all of them (if any in the short run). So some will be dealt, and probably for returns below their true value since teams will see that the Dodgers need to free up room. It'll be disheartening to see them go for a relief pitcher or for subpar bench strength. Best case scenario they get traded for prospects at other positions, or in a package for Skubal at the trade deadline. And as a side note, and I say this with full understanding that it's still early, but unless/until Tucker and Teo start really producing, my grumbling and whining is likely to continue getting louder.

Grumble away, man. Unlike the other journalists out there, you know your stuff & I read all of it. I get a paragraph into Plashke or Hernandez & stop reading. Pure shite.

Concur on Tucker & Teo. If either of those guys pulls his head out his arse, combining with a solid year from old reliable like Smith & Ohtani... that should be enough to carry the offense.

River Ryan has joined OKC in Las Vegas and is currently throwing a bullpen. He's scheduled to make his season debut Saturday night.

Top of the 5th, James Tibbs just flew out to dead center which is 415 ft
The defender had his shoulder pressed up against the wall with his arm straight up
