Tony Gonsolin and Michael Grove both DFA'd as well

 

man wtf?
i know we have too much but couldn't they get some minor league return for those guys?

 

Gonsolin is out all of next year due to injury and it was his last year under contract
Nothing you can do with that
Grove, idk what type of market is there for him
The deadline for the 40-man roster probably led to the decision to just outright him
Those moves allowed the Dodgers to protect Ryan Ward, OF, and Robinson Ortiz, LHP, from the rule 5 draft

 

of course it does and i'm just wired to bitch about stuff i guess
totally understand that Gonzo is out of time and damaged goods at this point
if there was even a glimpse of a minor league piece to be had AF and Co. would have already done it
isn't Estuery Ruiz on the 40 man as well?
time to trim up and probably trade some of that actual pitching as well i imagine
Wrobo and Sheehan seemingly have cemented themselves unless i'm missing something
and Stone, Hurt, Knack, Ryan et al make all that dynasty talk seem more real

Probably said it here before but I once had a young guy working with me who lost an infant after 4 days and I went to the funeral to support his family and it was one of the worst things that I ever did when I was just in the audience so it's impossible to imagine what that pain must be like
My heart goes out to the Vesia family and everyone close to them
