    @JustBB_Media
Julio Rodriguez would rather win the WBC than a World Series:

“I love the Mariners. They know I give my best every single time I step on the field, but winning a World Baseball Classic would be top of the list.”

top of the list should be trying to win for the team that’s paying you
    what an idiot
m’s fans can’t be happy to hear this

I think you'd be surprised how many non-US players feel this way

    more disappointed than surprised
but i guess it makes sense (to them)
especially if fans/citizens in their countries go all in

Let's be honest though ... Italy & Netherlands trying to play with their respective nation's talent is one thing; getting Pasquantino, Nola, Xander, & Albies to improve your nation's team in a huge way is another.

I'd bet that even the 2025 Rox team would beat the best ACTUAL Dago or Dutch baseballers 9 out of 10 times.

I've often felt this way in the past, albeit less so recently. I think this attitude is more prevalent among latino players from poor countries than players from Japan and Korea (wow, racist). There's just a feeling I have that making it to MLB and getting paid what amounts to a kings ransom back home is more important than actually winning for some.

This is kind of a loose example, but consider the cases of Urias vs Bauer. Julio pissed away an impending huge contract but has likely made enough to live like a king back home. He's hardly been heard from since. Meanwhile, Bauer has earned even more than Urias and yet is still playing the game he loves in Japan and hasn't stopped trying for a moment to get back to the biggest stage. I'm sure that's his competitive fire (plus a whole lot of ego) driving him.

As I alluded above, in recent years I've seen a little more fire from players south of the border, but overall I'm not surprised that the WS is not the biggest motivation for many.

suddenly Wrobo doesn't appear to be able to get a third strike
think he had every guy down 2 strikes and gave up hits
oh well just ST but sure looks like he'll have a rotation spot early on anyway

Team Italy letting the Dodgers down by making the game close enough to where Edwin Diaz might be asked to do an up-down appearance
Italy better close this game out right now
I don't want to see Edwin Diaz in the bottom of the 9th

    I changed my mind
I want USA vs Venezuela in the WBC Finals
and I want all USA walkup songs to be changed to Love Sosa by Chief Keef
Delta Force was blasting that song en route to capture Maduro
