not sure why Miggy is choosing this to be his last year
his offense, swings and penchant for the timely hit keep getting better
and the things he does on defense just can't be taught
think he's going to have a big year in 26 and they're going to want him back

"I'll be 37 and I don't think it's anything about my abilities to play baseball. I still feel like I can play shortstop. I still feel like I can help a team win a championship. I got a lot to bring to the table, but it feels like it's my time to kind of like have something that I can have a little bit more flexibility to be with my family. I've been away from them for the last 3 years for a lot of time because my kids are going to school and we don't do school at home or anything like that there. I want my son to have like his stability as well. And it's really hard. It's becoming harder and harder to see them. During the year he's starting to play baseball, you know, he likes it too. I want to be a dad. I want to be there for him."

i love that and totally respect it
guys walk away all the time that's absolutely the best reason of them all...
and yet he just now finds himself living on top of the world as the baseball version of a rock star w a hit album
i saw him during a ST game in an interview and he's lit up like a little kid and who wouldn't be?
if he has the kind of year i think he's going to i'll be very surprised not to see him back but probably love him all the more for doing it
it's not like he's out of gas like CK was but he knows whats good for him

Maybe we are spoiled by other stars making an immediate impact, but this kid needs to go to the minor leagues.
