    Nice stats-based write up on Pages. The article talks about how various metrics support the idea that Pages being one of the league's best hitters is not a fluke, and so he should continue as such. Also, discusses how important this is to the Dodgers and their aging roster.

    One thing it doesn't address is his horrendous slump down the stretch last year. Was it an anomaly? Did he just wear down? Really hope that was a one time thing and not something that becomes an annual norm for him.

    @DodgersNation
    Via @USATODAY Kiké Hernández has revealed a potential date for his return to the Dodgers.

    Kiké has been on the 60-day IL since he re-signed with LA due to an elbow surgery but he’s been ramping up his workouts every week.

    Video HERE says May 25.

    A stunning development in the Dodgers' season thus far:

    The bottom third of their lineup is OPS'ing .935, a 130-point lead over the second-place team.

    In other words, their Nos. 7, 8 and 9 hitters have basically been Juan Soto (2023-25 OPS: .946). It's early, duh, but still.

    That's absurd... and just what opposing pitchers didn't need to see when facing this lineup.

    Starters and backups alike have contributed... Rushing, Call, Kim, Rojas, Pages... even Teo and Muncy in the 7-spot sometimes. The only exceptions are Freeland and Espinal.

    TRADE

    @noahcamras
    The Dodgers have made a trade, acquiring RHP Chayce McDermott from the Orioles for RHP Axel Perez.

    McDermott was the Orioles' top pitching prospect a year ago. He has a high strikeout rate and swing-and-miss stuff.

    He's struggled in limited MLB action and was DFA'd last week.

    Interesting. McDermott has pretty ugly numbers, both over 6 minor league seasons and 12 major league innings. A ton of strikeouts, but a lot of walks too. Plus he's 27 now. Orioles must have a weak group of pitchers if he was their top mound prospect a year ago.

    Perez is a 20 year old international signee still in rookie ball. Probably not much of a loss, so maybe the Dodgers see this deal as no risk.

    I'd be fine if he waits until just before the playoffs to come back and work his magic. He's not the same hitter in the regular season for whatever reason. Plus other subs are doing just fine.

    more on mcdermott…

    @pitchprofiler
    The Dodgers add another hard throwing supinator!

    While walks have haunted Chayce, the Dodgers are betting on their player development to fix that because he is NASTY.

    RIP Angel great Garret Anderson.

    Played his final year with the Dodgers. He was Conforto level bad that year. Drove in the game winning runs in Game 7 of the Series vs. the Giants in 2002.

    Good to see the Padres lose yesterday. I looked at their lineup for that game and can't figure out how they put together that win streak. The only batter with an OPS over .800 was their 9-hitter Capusano. Machado and Tatis' combined OPS is in the 600s. Merrill's isn't much better, nor Bogaert's, and leadoff hitter Cronenworth has an on-base percentage of 0.233. This team should have a losing record. It's gotta be all due to smoke and mirrors, and lesser competition.
