    Absolutely. And I'll take it further. Double fuck them if they're making those threats against the athlete's wife and fuck them one-hundred fold if they're threatening the kids. In fact, lock them up in general population and make sure the rest of the inmates know that they threatened children. Let's see how tough they are then.

    Scott until Saturday's disaster. Love Hurt's potential with the fastball-changeup mix.

    More dividends for the Giants on Devers trade.

    Kyle Harrison, who was part of the deal with Tibbs III, fanned a career high 12 in 5.2 innings against his old team last night. He's 7-1 with a 1.57 ERA.

    Fuck the Giants.

    Gnats have dropped below Rockies as the worst team in the NL and only a half game better than the Angels. All is right in the baseball world.

    @TalkinBaseball_
    Padres have designated Nick Castellanos for assignment. He hit .191 with a .560 OPS and -0.9 bWAR in 39 games for San Diego.

    meanwhile, just up the coast…

    @DodgersNation
    Dave Roberts on the possibility of the Dodgers trading for Tarik Skubal, per
    @BNightengale.

    “They would go ballistic but we would have the prospect capital to do that. We are one of the teams that could do that with the Tigers.”

    ... and would probably have to give up twice that capital than any other team.

    I don't know if Roberts' quotes are taken out of context, but why does he have to state the obvious?

    @DanClarkSports
    Manny Machado turns 34 in July.

    He is having a truly dreadful season:
    .609 OPS | -13 Rdrs/yr | -0.4 WAR

    The San Diego Padres still owe him $286 million over the next 7½ years.

    Will this go down as one of the worst contracts in MLB history?

    Does Doc state the obvious? Sure. Is he a great manager? Absolutely. Does scoring runs help teams win? Yes indeed. Are my inane rhetoricals annoying? Darn right they are!

    Sincerely, Jim Tracy

    “What I’ve heard today is, the Red Sox are aggressively looking for a right-handed hitter… It might be a case where they are willing to take on a bad contract.”
    — Buster Olney/ESPN

    now if AF could somehow convince boston that tucker was better than any RH hitter and the answer to their prayers…

    Problem is, especially with Teo's status, I doubt Dodgers would even consider this during this season. Can Boston wait until the off-season? We'll cut them a great deal, wink wink.

    Regarding Skubal, right now I'm leaning towards any team other than the Phillies or Yankees trading for him
    I don't want him on those squads (PHI: Skubal, Sanchez, Wheeler – NYY: Skubal, Shitter, Cole) but I also don't want the Dodgers to overpay for 3 months of a rental that won't resign even if they offered him $400M immediately
    Josue De Paula should be completely off the table for Skubal, the only way he should be traded is if we are getting Bobby Witt Jr. or a Paul Skenes in return.
