Good to know. I kind of suspected that... despite his BA/OPS not being all that high.

I always have to refresh my memory on exactly what that stat is. AI to the rescue:

wRC+ (Weighted Runs Created Plus) is an advanced baseball statistic that measures a player's total offensive value and compares it to the league average, adjusted for different ballparks and eras. It is widely considered the most comprehensive single metric for evaluating hitting. [1, 2, 3]

    How to Read the Numbers
    • 100 is the baseline: This represents the exact league-average hitter.
    • Above 100 is above average: A wRC+ of 125 means the player is 25% better than the league-average hitter.
    • Below 100 is below average: A wRC+ of 80 means the player is 20% worse than the league average. [1, 2]

Why wRC+ is the Ultimate Hitting Stat
Traditional stats like batting average, home runs, and RBIs only tell part of the story. wRC+ solves this by factoring in three key elements: [1, 2, 3, 4]
    • Weighted Value: It values hits based on how many runs they actually create (e.g., a home run is worth more than a single) rather than treating all hits equally. [1]
    • Park Adjustments: It normalizes stats to account for the hitter- or pitcher-friendliness of a player's home stadium. Hitting in the thin air of Coors Field is weighted differently than hitting at spacious, pitcher-friendly parks. [1, 2, 3]
    • Era/League Adjustments: It recalibrates offensive numbers so that 100 always equals an average hitter, allowing you to easily compare players from different decades or eras (e.g., the high-offense 1990s vs. lower-scoring

Bill Plunkett: Will Smith likely to go on Il. #Dodgers debating whether to promote Eliezer Alfonzo or Chuckie Robinson from OKC. (Robinson caught 9 innings today)

Not ideal but gives Dalton Rushing regular playing and Will gets to recover a bit
Might be the reset he needs to get going, hopefully

I'm taking my kids to a game in the Bananas league this summer... there are a few rules that made me laugh ... if you haven't read these, a few are genius.

    https://bananaball.com/rules/

I'm trying to imagine a foul ball hit by a Dodger in LA that a fan tried to catch for an out. It'd be 3 dead, 7 injured per foul ball per game ....

if roberts had any spine mookie would be batting 7th
and if mookie were truly a team guy he would go to roberts and demand it

5 weeks after elbow surgery and Skubal is already back
Sounds more dangerous and risky than impressive
Let somebody else buy that experiment

Looking like Edman will be activated Tuesday. Wasn't exactly tearing it up at OKC. .234/.321/.362/.682

Have to hope he isn't the utility man version of Glasnow. A nice run when he first joined the team aside, he hasn't been very good at the plate.

Hope not, I'd rather have Freeland as primary 2B but I suspect you're right
Edman strictly for IF play drastically reduces his value and I believe I read somewhere they want him only playing IF now because of his chronic ankle issues
Freeland is the better defender and has much more potential on offense
