    i don't remember him being a Dodger but recall his approach at the plate. his baseball card always had him choking waaaay up on the bat to increase his odds of getting plunked. dude was quite proud of that part of his game iirc.

    @TalkinBaseball_
    Brandon Woodruff will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery, per @AdamMcCalvy. It's the same surgery he underwent in September 2023, which held him out until July 2025.

    hard not to feel sorry for this guy
    great pitcher, just can’t stay healthy
    and this time it’s potentially career ending
    last time it took him nearly two years to recover — this time he’d be 35 when he returned
    who knows if he wants to go thru the grueling rehab again and so soon
    have to wonder if this lights a fire under brewers mgmt to go all in for skubal

    @OKC_comets
    Four outs and four strikeouts for Blake Snell as he starts his rehab assignment 1.1 IP | 1 H | 0 ER | 1 BB | 4 K

    could really use him back in the rotation

    @SleeperDodgers
    Edgardo Henriquez in high leverage situations this season:
    • 6.1 IP
    • 1 H
    • 0.00 ERA
    • .047 WHIP
    • .063 BAA
    He’s earning Dave Roberts’ trust one outing at a time.

    @nicktalkingball
    How has Tanner Scott turned around his struggles from a year ago?
    • Barrel%: 9.0 - 6.7
    • HardHit%: 42.3 - 30.0
    • SLG: .460 - .296
    • wOBA: .332- .221
    • FB whiff%: 22.6 - 29.1
    • SLG v LHH: .621 - .163
    His .136 BA and .160 SLG against his slider are number 1 in all of baseball.

    I might be for trading for Skubal
    Blake Snell seemingly getting ready to return but he's a wildcard if he'll be healthy at any given time
    Tyler Glasnow seems to be constantly getting set back in his rehab without any real timeline of when, if, he'll be available this season
    Shohei's knee is obviously a problem – if today was a postseason game he'd pitch, I know, but it's mid-July and who says his knee will get better and not worse as he continues to play everyday

    either that or promote a young guy like they did w Bobby Miller. maybe that makes them hesitate since it didn't exactly work out and maybe pushing him damaged his career in that instance. i wish Glasnow was tradable cause for real is that guy even on the team? Skubal came back strong from an apparently far more serious physical problem. what is ailing Tyler atm anyway? sprained nose hairs? more i think about him the less i wish he were a Dodger.

    Might have what Will Smith has...seems Dodgers come down with long, mysterious physical problems that only carefuly worded tidbits of info are let out infrequently...sort of like the Manhattan project. You can't argue with success like the Dodgers have had in recent history... I get it. But it is a bit of an insult to a fan's intelligence that it goes on to the degree and frequency that it does with LA. Causes chronic eye rolling.
    It's fucking baseball, man. Not D Day.

    @SleeperDodgers
    Would you rather…
    Overpay to acquire Tarik Skubal
    OR…
    Potentially have to face him 2–3 times in a potential NLCS?

    hence the dilemma
    would hate to overpay but would also hate to see skubal go to atlanta, milwaukee or philly

    I would rather option 3. Detroit stays in the WC hunt and declines to trade him.

    @JonHeyman
    Seth Halvorsen goes to Dodgers from Rockies for prospects Nick Frasso and Landyn Vidourek

    Vidourek, an OF, is the No. 25 ranked Dodgers prospect. Frasso is a RHP. LA has perhaps the best collection of OF prospects ever assembled (DePaula, Sirota, Hope, more) so they are trading from strength

    Frasso had potential but it never materialized. He was drafted in 2020 by Toronto and then Dodgers got him as part of the Mitch White trade. Ended up being pretty much a nothing trade for both teams.

    Vidourek was drafted last July by the Dodgers - I believe it was in the third round. He was a rare (sorta) draftee that reported immediately and put up good numbers for that month or two last year. I remember thinking it was looking like a better pick than Davalan who was taken as a supplemental after round one. But this year he's struggled pretty much since day one. Obviously he can turn it around, but with so many OFers ahead of him in the system, it probably wasn't a tough call to ship him out.

    Let's see if Halvorsen can get healthy and be effective. Dodgers will probably lean on him a lot.

    A shoulder ? Might be as bad as a mystery neck injury. Or back spasms some people get.
    Idk.

    Maybe blind faith because of his past performances, but I'm still a Phillips believer.

    @SleeperDodgers
    The Dodgers are putting their trust in Dalton Rushing.

    Despite Will Smith’s absence, the Dodgers do not plan to pursue major-league catching depth and will rely on Rushing for the bulk of the starts, per @katiejwoo.
