Bernie is awesome, but that doesn't mean he would have made a better president than Hillary. And it's possible that's what the DNC was thinking. Ultimately, Hillary was also supposed to beat Trump according to polls, plus (to Craig's point) I'm not sure I would trust the polls on a Bernie presidential run. Hindsight is 20/20 Speaking of 2020... Hickenlooper/Brown?
I don't like Hillary, but I think she understands economics, foreign policy and government very well. And she had Wall St. and the Tech Industry in her back pocket. Bernie doesn't have any of those things. You can look at the Bernie vs. Ted Cruz debate from the other night for what would have happened during the general election. Although not sure any of that would have mattered in this election.
Might be funny to have a movie where these 3 appear together played by modern funnymen telling new jokes but in the style of the character their playing. I would enjoy to here some new Rodney jokes by someone doing a Rodney. A movie of these 3 guys where the actors never repeat an old classic joke. They dont have to ape the 3 icons exactly either, the point would be the type of jokes and the content of their stories.
I was out of the country at the time, but I thought the vast majority of the polls had Clinton winning right up until the election. But admittedly I was out of touch. Edit: I don't know if you guys read fivethirtyeight, but it's a really good site with statistical analysis of lots of topics (sports and politics among them). They do some really interesting analysis of polls and composite poll data...and they totally got the election wrong: https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-election-forecast/
I can't help but feel like Elizabeth Warren would suffer the same fate as Hillary. She's in the spotlight too much, and people tend to vote against people more than they vote for them. They need someone who's laying low.
She says too many dumb things. She's really effective as a sort of gadfly for the left, but I think she'd get killed as a mainstream candidate. She's also probably too old. She'll be 71 in 2020. But then again, Trump and Sanders are about that age or older. And no one seems to care about their senility.

I know we all have our favorite pet issues, but here's something that people really should be protesting in the streets about, because it's related to government overreach that can directly affect your everyday lives: civil asset forfeiture. Basically: the government can steal your stuff if they think you've committed a crime. The standard for "think you've committed a crime" is incredibly low. They don't require a search warrant. You don't have to be convicted. https://www.thenewamerican.com/usne...ivil-asset-forfeiture-even-without-conviction More on CAF: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_forfeiture_in_the_United_States https://www.aclu.org/issues/criminal-law-reform/reforming-police-practices/asset-forfeiture-abuse http://reason.com/blog/2017/02/09/trump-does-not-know-what-civil-forfeitur
this has been going on for quite awhile as long as we have had a government actually and "the think you committed a crime" thing has gotten really fucked up drive anywhere w a couple of empty red bulls in your car and depending on the district they can use that as a right to search you and your car if you have any amount of cash on you its going to get seized under suspicion of drug running good luck trying to get it back because while not impossible its a simple cost issue and they know it people have been killed when the government wants your land bottom line is if they want what you have they're going to take it period even the best lawyers won't take up the fight most of the time unless you can bankroll it cause its a million to one shot i hate the fact it can happen but i've hated that for a very long time long before this guy became president just saying
al franken for president? i know you hate trump probably at least as much as i loathed BO but tell me you are joking on this one even if you aren't it was a good chuckle
Al Franken is one of the Dems that has been rumored as a possibility. If the Dems are running against Trump in 2020, Franken might actually be a great counter. Fight pseudo-celeb with pseudo-celeb. But at the rate Trump is going, there's a good chance he doesn't make it to 2020. With Trump in office it's amazing how many people sound like good choices.
I actually like people like Elizabeth Warren and Chuck Schumer, but part of the problem for Hillary was getting the "anti-establishment" middle-America vote. Franken could possibly bridge that gap as an "outsider". I'd also look to Dems not from deep blue states. Personally, I see Franken as someone who could beat Trump but he wouldn't be my first choice - although he is good enough, smart enough, and gosh darn it people like him.
Im down for Cory Booker in 2020. Need more niggas in office Plus he has solid views and appears to be relatively moderate https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Cory_Booker inbefore wow...racist
Al Franken? Really? He would be a first...an Ashkenazi Jew ethnic background. Didn't work for Bernie, and the Dems themselves are the ones that torpedoed him, led by Wasserman-Schultz. People don't even use this as a reason, but I think it is a valid consideration and probably engineered principally by the Jewish themselves. It's like a wink, wink thing resulting in "nice try, but that's the way the motzah bounces". Very sad, yes...but true. Same for Schumer, and by that time, a NY born candidate like Trump may be on the quarantine list for a long time. A Jewish mayor may fly quite well in NYC and Chicago, but IDK about the flyover states in a presidential election. I think the record bears me out. Just my tuppence as I look at the complexities of American prejudices. To deny it all exists is sheer folly.
Cory Booker is a sell out to the healthcare industry, and has routinely cozied up to some of the most disgusting people on the right when it was politically advantageous to do so. He'd be so easy to disparage as being another Hillary "do whatever it takes to win" politician. We need a true far left liberal IMO, to invigorate the base and young voters. Going further and further right every election was a problem.
