    major bummer
    most of these guys were a little older than us but the tables tilted and the edge is getting closer

    This was a two night gig. This was the first night. Rod Stewart appeared on Ain't Superstitious and People Get Ready.

    Night we saw him he had John Mayer and Joss Stone as guests.

    hard to quantify what Bacharach meant as a songwriter
    some of my first memories connecting w the feeling of a song
    RIP to the mad man of sexy 70s soul w Vicki Carr

    and of course this version that is heaven
    his work w Dionne and so many others are the stuff of legends

    I recall watching this when it originally aired. I remember that I was surprised that he wasn't Ziggy anymore. That was 1980. I didn't know much about his dynamic then.

    that was almost an interim band and you see GE Smith from Hall and Oates and SNL fame on guitar
    was also married to Gilda Radner and dude just always looked like he really loved what he was doing no matter where he played
    there is a guy (from and early song) jk named Nacho that has a youtube channel and he reclaims and restores lots of old music footage
    i think he recently did this one and if you've never run across his videos it will blow your mind
    i've never met the man but consider him a friend from all the conversations
    think he's a white dude living in China but he has an aura of mystery around him
    really think he should have been given access to the Bowie vaults instead of Morgen, maybe next time
    this is one of his restores w Adrian Belew who i mentioned above is doing a few tribute shows in April/May w Peter Murphy

    i remember ge smith played a lot with tbone wolk on bass
    their short jams on snl (just before going to commercials) we’re epic
    know they played with a lot of heavy artists on tour in the 80’s (springsteen et al)
