that's a great song but has anyone else noticed how we all hear the same songs for short periods of time?
its like someone buys up a block of music oldies and every fucking station plays it on repeat
been hearing this song on everything from spotify to the supermarket
great live version and lmao at making it look like Linda actually played keyboards
McCullough and Laine were the real musicians and you barely get a glimpse of them

 

i never even knew this song was part of the David Live! album sessions
apparently Visconti brought it back in the remaster of the album
its an old Ohio Players song and i think he kills it but yeah i love the FB page i belong to...lots of people from his past including Visconti

 

immediately went to find this one and surprise they have giant Larry David in the band doing something at 4:14

 

ever hear a song that sends you off in recollection of how great a band was?
came on w the gf's kid in the car and she put it on her spotify in the first 60 seconds lol
what an incredibly underrated and overlooked talent...of course NOT in the rrhof pffft
guess they never played this live much

 

absolutely but imho gone hollywood is one of their best songs period
breakfast has an important spot because i had just gotten out of bootcamp in SD and it was really good
i had a gf introduce me to crisis, crime and quietest prior to that and those are the band at their best (maybe my favorite musical memories cause we were kids laying on the floor)
blame that more on Hodgson and where he wanted to go w famous which frankly sucks and destroyed them
btw goodbye stranger is also as good as anything they ever did imo and has maybe the best outro of all time
and of course i wouldn't disagree there overall best work came prior to breakfast
as the years go by their classic work holds up as well as any music and probably is comparable only to groups like Traffic for me in the sense of so many instruments

 

nah, its like saying Aerosmiths first four were their best or Mick Taylor Stones or early Yes vs. Trevor Rabin stuff, can we even listen to LZ in through the out door!?
everyone it guilty of being protective of the bands they love and even though i was mentioning a couple of great songs on breakfast the overplayed hits didn't age well at all for me so i get what you're saying totally
the Wall was incredible and I remember where i was when i first heard comfortably numb on the radio
a few weeks later i had heard run like hell, thin ice, young lust, one of my turns and gilmores guitar soaring on nearly every song along w odd radio noise like between nobody home y vera
ended up seeing that tour from the 13th row and the guy i went with told me this pill w a 714 and a beer would make it perfect...and he was right
does it compare w dsotm or wywh?, no way but again 79 was a really great year for albums being released and i was 18 so maybe i remember it better
but they just seemed to come at me one after another and looking at it the list IS pretty astounding
not the greatest year for music but suddenly there was also all this new music w the Cure, Petty's torpedeos, Clash, Police Regata de Blanc!, AC/Dc highway to hell and Knack
at the same time Aerosmith released night in the ruts, Eagles long run, LZ itttod, Bowie lodger, Wings egg, Mac tusk, Trick dream police ick ick and ick
i'm sure all those albums have their legion fans, i know they do, but 79 also was the end of me listening to a lot of the bands i had loved...sort of like what you're saying
even Bowie followed lodger w scary monsters and then...let's dance! wtf was he thinking? and i didn't really listen again until the 90s
i guess ultimately things were really changing like they always are but sure beats the fuck out of most anything happening now w very few exceptions
yes i'm old and a by 81 i would find myself dancing to ant music, realizing the value of a certain powder and trying to stick my dick in anything that rubbed up on me in a club
but i digress, and crazy how you can look back at the releases and timeline things

parents weren't home at a friends house so 5 of us were sitting around w a bong and some brews playing the records on that giant console w the great speakers
we were kinda doing the Santana, Grateful dead, Allman bros. thing and someone put on Dark side
is that my heartbeat? wtf is this? oh cool song, wait a sec what a trip CLOCK ALARMS! Fuck what was that! ok pass that bong...and the lighter, life changed

 

31 shows on the tour, LA and NY
thought they played Philly as well but it looks like i'm wrong
i remember my buddy who i still see every week scored 2nd row from klos or kmet and i bought through a scalper for like $150 a piece which was a fortune back then
had to by sell and steal to put that coin together and had virtually nothing else which led to dad kicking my ass out shortly after and i don't think i blamed him at the time
the 13th row turned out to be the better seats because the show started w an airplane flying across the arena a crashing behind an already partially built wall
by the time they hit intermission he was looking straight up and couldn't see what everyone else was seeing
