A glaring weakness that has to be fixed. Would be tragic if this team fell short in the postseason because they refused to address the closer situation.
When I got my driver's license I would drive around just to hear Vin nail the simulcast and then turn it off when clown Steiner came on in the 4th inning.
Another day, another injury. Calling it a cramp after the game. Probably a torn oblique with the Dodgers' injury luck this season. Another day, another Kimbrel failure. Strikes out the first two, then pitches his way into getting yanked with the game on the line. Despite this, I still don't see the need for a panic move for a closer. It's early, the team is playing well and it appears internal help is on the way. I'd like see Phillips in the Treinen/closer role for now. Keep an eye (or both eyes) on Happ this weekend. Would be a nice addition to the roster, but would come at a cost.
Hump? Death? I've used that line since the day I saw this iconic and truly great film...sometimes, I even got the answer I wanted. I just did it and I wanna do it again... Nice names... The jig is up... Oh, piss boy...
i know win-loss and era are no longer the end-all/be-all stats they once were but no matter how you look at it… 11-0 / 1.69 is still pretty fucken impressive
Bazooka played catch and felt fine. Reportedly no IL for him. Reportedly he'll be unavailable tonight.
Anderson looking great tonight...problem is, the kid on the Cubs is just as good. Dodgers don't have a clue EDIT: No, the kid looks better actually. Wow. Making complete assholes out of them...
Anderson has slowly been coming back to earth, though. Recently, I felt he was more and more becoming...well...Anderson. Nothing radically bad, but less dominating than earlier in the year, for sure. Muncy is, except on very rare occasions, a big hole offensively. It's a damn shame...he was feared, indeed, but he doesn't look like he's " rounding into shape" like...uh...Kimbrel is. In fact he is about as sporadic.
That whole two run inning was set up by that perfect bunt by Morel, imo. And that PB by Smith just set the table for Happ. Oh, and the All Star game starters suck the pipe tonight.
