Think I had the front office at a B+ entering the season.
    Down to a C.

Inexcusable how NOTHING they've tried has worked.

This isn't just 7 games in. This is a couple of seasons. We've been desperate and starving for competent relief pitching. And they won't do S about it

It's one week I think it's unfair to put this grade this short into the season

    It could get... worse.

They really have scraped the bottom of the barrel for pitching since taking over. And it pisses me off. What the hell is wrong with finding guys who aren't oft injured and/or have only shown small doses of competence?

Well the real test comes when we see what they do to try and fix it

If they decide to stand pat all season and it blows up fuck them, but if they try and fix it well that's good

^ True, but what else are we supposed to talk about?

I'll wait and see on the SP and any other issues, should they come along

But I don't feel like waiting on that bullpen anymore.

Basically the same cast of characters with the same results, Howell aside. He's fallen off a cliff.

imo these are the type of guys that will try things that make no sense just to look like they know more than the average gm
if they can make shit out of shinola or pitchers out of broken pieces they look amazingly clever
its sort of the antithesis of the bloated bp era of wilson, league et al
been a long time since we had a trade or free agent signing go well for us in the bp
might of been like jeff shaw
then again we lost konerko in that trade so...

I understand it's not like you push an "Easy" button and get a stellar BP. But it has been at least 2 years and 2 trade deadlines to fix this problem. Plus I don't know who is even an option to shore this up?

Call up Frias? I dunno what is their plan?

I see this team beating up on the lower half of the NL, but those predictions about the Dodgers being 2nd or 3rd is looking about right if they can't get 6 good innings out of the SP and then a BP that keep a lead or preserve a tie from the 7th through 8th plus insurance for the 9th if Kenley has been used too much.

This problem has been known....why so ineffective at fixing it?

Things that come to those who wait very often may be the things left by those who got there first.

They're going to struggle to get 6 out of any member of the current staff (Kershaw aside, of course). This obviously puts a lot of heat on a shaky (putting it kindly) pen. Even if he comes back healthy, Ryu is going to be babied coming back, taxing this pen even further.

To quote Warren Zevon, send lawyers, guns and money......the shit has hit the fan.

Ryu tore up his shoulder. There is absolutely no guarantee he's gonna be anywhere close to what he was. I hope the FO is not banking on this.

If Stripling is on a strict pitch count when even pitching a no hitter, Wood is garbage, Kazmir is grooving pitches, and even Maeda is pitching on an already injured shoulder.....I mean what is the freaking backup plan?

Howell blows. Yimi blows. Hatcher is nervous city. I just don't know who is our go to guy, and we need several go to guys if our SP is suspect.

Again, I'm beating a dead horse, but it's just frustrating we are several years going through the same problem.....and not being fixed with an org that supposedly has more money than anyone.

don't care if its too early or too small a sample size
    its fucken frustrating
and i hate losing to the fucken giants any time, regardless of time of year/standings/expectations
especially the way we've lost, coughing up leads
i get the not wanting to spend on zack at what the dbags offered
but i dont get not going after hamels or price via trade
and that's not even factoring in not addressing the pen issues
i hear what @LASports96 is saying about waiting for the trade deadline to see what they do
but i'm not optimistic about the quality of what they'll look to acquire
they have all this $$$ and yet it feels like they always go the cheap route
    fuck, frustrated :gah:
