come on doc if you don’t get it done in the postseason, then you fucken failed (see del harris) especially with the talent you’ve been handed annually and i don’t want to hear about the players not performing — your job to get/keep them motivated (see tommy) you’re in way over your head bubba do us all a favor… let prior, geren and the hitting coaches (gurus) do their thing, and try to stay the fuck out of the way signed, everyone https://dodgersnation.com/dave-roberts-believes-hes-unfairly-hated-by-some-dodgers-fans/2024/03/06/
and i love how he always defends himself using we and our great leaders stand in front of their team, not behind them fucken spineless coward racist
i'm certain he tells people like kirsten the problem is racism and not his own lack of situational awareness i'm w jpl cause it makes me sick to see him or hear him talk and now i just wish i couldn't forget his stupid lost expression of a face doesn't help that he poses around the dugout like he thinks he's royalty and i'm sure he's going to be looking for Counsell money or...racism
looks like he was right there, how did he miss? https://dodgersnation.com/dodgers-m...im-by-bystander-at-korean-airport/2024/03/15/
Haha, that's great. Love him or hate him, Tommy was part of that old school type of manager, with Earl Weaver, Sparky Anderson, Billy Martin, and others who would absolutely own the responsibility that came with the job and take it upon themselves to lead, motivate, and defend their team at any time the situation called for it. Their players loved them (usually) because they respected them, not for tush pats and being their friend which is the Dave Roberts way. Can you imagine if The Scarecrow tried to tell off one of his players like that? They'd probably think he was joking and laugh at him. Or stare him down until he cowered back to the dugout.
One last Roberts comment and then I'm done beating this horse... for today. I can't think of a coach/manager in the history of professional sports who has had a worse feel for which of their players has the hot hand. To PH your coldest bat on the season for your hottest bat over the past 3 games is just asinine, and to say "but lefty/righty matchup" just shows that your strategizing doesn't go beyond cookie cutter moves.
he’s been handed rosters full of all stars and future hall of famers and continually underperformed he should have been fired 5-6 years ago
and he firmly believes he's the shit wait until his contract demands come out really want to slap the potato out of his head
Aside from the shortened 2020, he has consistently underachieved as @irish noted. Hard not to imagine how many more titles Lasorda or Alston would have won over the past nine years.
For that matter, Grady Little, Hoffman, & Torre would have snared at least two titles in that same span. I won't go so far as to say that about Jim Tracy though.
