When I die, I won't cost my wife & kids thousands. I'm paid up front. I've even allocated a full bar of bourbon & a stipend for a barman to pour drinks.

Dying is expensive, brother. I've planted six close relatives- including my old man & three uncles. I arrange the Mass, pick the readings, deliver the eulogy, and hire the servants. Average cost for a 200 person wake is about 2K (and that's cheap).

Not this boy. I'm even building my urn out of oak. I'm not costing anything extra. Fuck funeral directors.

The cost of dying in a dying culture is just a way to show consumers how valuable their life was.
Part and parcel with turning things like fun, faith, and family into organized consumer products.

IMO your friends letting you pick up their last tab is a huge honor and privilege that they gave you.
    One last gift of friendship.
That from a certain point of view you are robbing your friends and family of.
Then again im biased against those funeral salesmen so my take is probably gonna involve putting them out of a job.

remember living in a party house w a massive sound system that my friend acquired while working for rogersound labs back in the day
we were still listening to ac/dc and black sabbath but this group of younger girls starting bringing over new wave records
at first i hated it but soon realized that if they were partying and dancing the party just gets better
this was one song in particular that stood out w its dueling drums, horn section, nightmare bass line and wicked guitar
    still sounds great imo

played most of it on this last tour but its about time
a couple of those new songs would make amazing funeral tunes come to think of it
as beautiful as any music i've ever heard just in their breadth and sadness

think its safe to say Perry needs to get off the drugs and alcohol
watch Avery, the bassist throw him in a head lock and start gut punching the fool

Perry Farrell hasn't been relevant since 56K dialup was all the rage.

no but Navarro and that band were as good as any of that time and Dave is still a mad witch w the axe
first couple of albums were solid rock, especially nothings shocking
Farrell has always been enamored of himself and his minimal talent but his brain is fried
this is the full clip of ocean size and if you watch from :50 to like 1:10 you can see Navarro is concerned about something
still looking him straight in the eyes wondering where he went after he attacked him

That was sloppy of me... JA was solid. Even PFP first album was quality. But Perry is an egomaniacal twatling...

Anyway... what a hot mess that scene was.

guess this was before the fight at the same venue
one of my favorite songs by the band comin down the mountain!
the band sounds tight af and at 1:10 you can see Avery getting ready to punch a fucked up Feral
Navarro even has to nudge him to shut up so he can play the solo
band sounds as good as it ever did to me they just need a new singer
then again every body has their own opinions

yeah but like 56k its how most of us from one subculture met others from all sorts of other subcultures
at a janes show there was dudes from every scene you could think of
and more importantly it also had tons of girls
and they were not uptight ones either
but down to earth ones who liked to chill
kinda like the early days of 56k
and the early days of porno for pyros

i was a big gnr fan, i was 13 when jungle became a big deal
if you liked janes you had a chance of being called a fag or half a fag by guys
i liked janes but resisted becoming a fan because i was still more on the gnr team
until it hit me that gnrs music and image was about sex drugs and rock n roll
but that janes was sex drugs and rock n roll
and it reminded me of how we make religions or rituals out of things that were parts of normal ways of life in some ancient dead culture we idolize
