It's a pretty special thing when Mookie, FF, and JD are all en fuego at the same time. Got to enjoy it while it lasts.

Also, kudos to Roberts (such a rarity to be able to say that) for recognizing that Heyward is swinging a hot bat. He showed creativity (even more rare) in putting him in LF for the first time in Jason's career, instead of the usual yawners he sticks out there.

    That's most likely today's outcome.

But... if I'm trying to be an optimist (ever more difficult with Roberts at the helm), YankMees have never seen Grove before. Yeah, these days with all the advanced scouting tools, that's not much of an advantage, but you never know.

More so, though, Cole is a great pitcher, but if the bats stay hot, maybe we can knock him out early. His K/9 is down, BB/9 is the highest of his career, and his WHIP the highest since 2017. If Dodgers show patience at the plate and work his pitch count, maybe we get into the pen with enough outs left to do some damage.

I appreciate that JD and Heyward are both on a roll. But you got to play smart, too. Smith singles, Max walks on four pitches. Count 2-0 to JD (6 straight balls) and he swings at ball 3. Way to bail out Cole who was struggling at that point. Next batter, Heyward, 2-0 count and he pops up on the next pitch. Hero ball? Why not take one or two to make Cole throw strikes?

manager takes his ace out after 80 pitches and 1 ER (and the Dodgers didn't even deserve that 1 ER) and he isn't Dave Roberts? Weird to be on the other side of that.

A couple of bad pitches to someone named Bauers aside I thought Grove's outing was promising. Anything that moves Thor closer to the waiver wire is a good thing.

Enough with the crowd shots of an irrelevant film maker from New York, too.

I went to a seminar at Stroudsburg University in PA. with Spike Lee as the guest speaker.
This was after the hit, " Do the Right Thing", so I thought it would be interesting.
A oddity for the Pocono mountains, if you get my meaning. Not a hotbed of cultural awareness, you see.
So...after about 20 minutes, and nary a mention of film making ( just spouting white supremacy ), the audience got up and walked out en masse.
There were literally, maybe, 50 people left.

The nauseating incompetence of the umpires is once again, on full display.
Amazing how their lack of talent never wanes or gets any better.
The people in charge of almost everything are a bunch of pathetic dolts, even when it comes to a game.
