Are the Dodgers really going to pay part of salary to Play elsewhere. Kemp couldn't lift weights before the 2013 season nor run before this season. He can now go full beast off in season training in prep for 2015. If he us worth the 21 million salary to someone else why would we trade him
well, i wasn't saying you in particular..i was just saying most kinda switch up. i'll put it to you like this..if we dump Hanley this offseason..Kemp is staying more than likely. we'll be down to Kemp and Puig as our righty threats at that point..and probably be looking to get Guerrero into the lineup somehow. which would probably make a successful transition to shortstop very important for Dee and all of us.
I dont think Dee will go back to SS. Guerrero can't go the minors next season, plus we still got Arruebarrena. I'm not really sure where Guerrero fits in, especially when Seager comes up in a couple years.
We don't even know if Guerrero can hit. At his age, he doesn't have a long leash when it comes to hitting. His defense hasn't been rated as great so he's gonna have to hit and the Dodgers can't just assume he will
this would be a lot easier if we had say a DH. Hanley would be the DH. Kemp, Joc, Puig in the OF. Uribe at 3rd until Seager is up, Arry/Guerrero/Dee platoon up the middle IF, and A gon at 1B.
Yup, I'm telling you, it's unfair for the AL to have such an easy solution for this shit. Would also help in negotiations to get rid of Crawford/Ethier, by not seeming so desperate to get rid of both
if Guerrero is the hitter they say he is..trust me..THEY WILL try to see if Dee can transition back to shortstop. of course that's if they let Hanley walk.
The Dodgers will tender Hanley and he will see what hisfree agent value is. Probably not high and he could accept the tender for a year to establish a greater healthy Hanley market value
that was gonna be my next question. what if we make the WS this year..it's always been kinda assumed that one of our " 4 outfielders " would be the DH to get them into the lineup, but does that DH spot go to Hanley?
i agree. Hanley will get a qualifying offer and have to play it year to year. that's best for everybody..unless the Yankees throw him a bone to replace Jeter..which they could.
