Exactly. Combine that with the next inning having Joc bunt with Kemp on deck and Butera behind him. It was a guarantee that you are taking the bat out of Kemp's hands. Let Joc hit. The runner at first is meaningless, Joc has good speed so is unlikely to be doubled up and you win or lose with Joc and Kemp rather than Butera and Gordon
Unbelievable. This team can't win games that are given to them on a silver platter. Mainly because our manager is a fucking idiot and our bullpen can't close teams out. Feel bad for frias..dude pitched his ass off. The loss is one thing but if we can't figure out how to bring runners in with bases loaded and make routine plays in the postseason we aren't winning a fucking thing. That's what bugs me more.
This game was the definition of a manager fucking his team over. Why was pinchrunning Ellis so hard? Did Don just realize he left AJ in and THEN put in a pinch runner. He's a fucking idiot. Four years as a manager, and he still can't manage using common sense. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt last year. But you can't be managing four FOUR FUCKING YEARS and still make these mistakes. You just can't.
it's sad, really. ya know, when i proposed Ozzie Guillen for manager before the season, most turned their nose up at him and said " bring back Donnie! " but go back and look at that WS run they had in Chicago..Guillen was BRILLIANT with his in-game management. Guillen gets the game mentally. he's a fucker..but he gets it. the man brought a WS title to Chicago, people. CHICAGO. you think 1988 was long ago? try the 85 YEARS. try being in that city with two teams..one not having won it all in 85 YEARS and the other ( the fuckin Cubs) not having won it all in over 100 years. a lot of people don't like Guillen and won't like him..if it came to pass, i'd hope for some of those people to be the players because it'd probably mean Guillen's gettin on their ass and staying on their case. but we need a new manager. doesn't have to be Ozzie, but damnit it's gotta be somebody other than Mattingly because this shit is embarrassing. we basically have the Frank McCourt of managers..just a fucking embarrassment. wanna know why teams think they can throw at our players and why STL just picks on the Dodgers whenever they like? look no further than Mattingly. he's a country bumpkin retard and i tried to warn you all before the season. i tried. over and out.
Most were against Guillen. Most were not for Donnie Dum Dum. Most wanted a change. A real one. A good one. One worth making if the option was there (Scioscia, Wallach, Kennedy). Some wanted to keep Dum Dum but the majority was in agreement of not wanting a loud mouth guy like Ozzie that would put the focus on him instead of the team. He is not Dodgers material. Nor is Dum Dum but for some reason management likes the idea of a Yankee and a Giant holding the keys. They will not win until the last of the McLoan mess is terminated (Nud and Dum Dum). Think about that. A Yankee and a Giant are holding the keys to our beloved franchise. Everything about that is mother fucking wrong!
i can understand if you feel that way, but the bottom line is that Guillen can manage the game at a high level and this team could use that. manage egos? get rid of the fucks..they're stupid too, so let's not just call Mattingly out when it comes to his stupidity. let's also talk about veteran mental midgets Kemp and Ramirez..a couple of dumbfucks with big egos. Kemp, who if asked to play LF today, probably would've passed. Ramirez, probably an option to be tendered with the hopes that he decides to take more money, move out of our lives and leave us with a 1st round pick. Puig's a kid still learning..what's their excuse? how about McGwire..when do we start holding him accountable?..a Cardinal in our dugout along with that Yankee. and yea, from what i remember there definitely was a good sized portion of people who wanted to give Mattingly another shot if for no other reason than there not being another option that they liked. but like i said..it didn't have to be Guillen getting the job..it could've been anybody with some sense.
all you have to do is look here.. http://www.dailysportspages.com/index.php?threads/the-mattingly-thread.5485/page-3
Why are people suggesting guys like Ozzie and way back when, Maddon? I mean, do you just want names? We don't need a big name manager. All we need is a competent manager who doesn't make the same stupid mistakes over and over again.
I'll be the manager. With Chris/Doyer as my bench coach(es), and TB as the team's motivational speaker.
NO, I'm sick of mediocre managers. If I could choose 1 manager, it'd be Bud Black. That is a guy who gets the most out of his players.
I wouldn't say awful manager, I mean, he is a world series champion. But he is definitely a terrible person.
Ozzie got a lot of leeway because of that championship. I'd rather not have to deal with his bullshit.
