So darth... who do you want the dodgers to get?
The guy with a worse attitude than Puig at his worst Chris Sale?
Will you then promptly come in saying how the 'nerds' got hosed in the deal by trading away a bunch of assets all because they wouldnt pay Greinke who is proving not to be worth the contract?

This is a direct result of Mattingly's overworking of him because he had no options

They've already offered on Reddick as well, so we'll see
Maybe that's the play if Bruce goes to SF

Hoarding prospects hasn't worked for them for as long as I can remember. 5 ROY's, The Jacksonville 5, etc... We're being jerked off for the simple reason that Dodger fans are loyal to a fault, the stadium is beautiful on summer nights and they don't give a fuck. I may be speaking with the heart of a fan but watching these FUX waste literally tens of millions on players to play elsewhere then stockpile damaged "bargains" to hopefully make up for it, while leading the league in DL games is the work of fools.

They let TWC put their heads in a guillotine and now it's all house money. Sucks that Magic is a PR bitch without the juice in the org to channel his inner Dr Buss and buy us some Blue Showtime.

The guys that should be considered in trade would collectively make 2-3X what he does and offing him for a boatload of young ?'s would put the Fucktards a notch lower than Obama when it comes to legendary intentional self destruction.

One thing I would guess is that if they ask him after next year if he's going to opt out vs extending or staying that he would be honest with them vs being a Greinke and if he recovers, wins another CY and still has no shot that he'll go.

Long and short is we may be having this convo for real in the not so distant future..

He's been over worked and abused here and just might not be such a gentleman after more wasted effort. Dude won't need money either so a ring will be what motivates him.

There is no one winning formula here. I've been through the "home grown" tactic phase in it's multiple interations for decades with this team..from Beltre, Mondesi, Karros, Hollensworth, Dreifort, Billingsley, Piazza, Puig......that has produced nothing in terms of championships.

I've seen LA win in an era where players didnt move around so much, so the ability of a rival team to leap frog you wasnt as acute as it is now (the old Steve Garvey, Ron Cey, Steve Yeager, Fernando Valenzuela, Rick Monday, etc days).

And I've seen statiscally awful teams win a WS because they had a bulldog and a stiff rotation, with great BP help, and a bating order that refused to give in.......with a BIG difference in attitude brought by a KEY FA. We all know who that was.

So to sit there and say that keeping our prospects forever will take us to the promised land is just myopic.

Yes, we have to be prudent, but last year, we had a team with the best 1-2 punch in SP in the league, and we didnt go after a third. We didnt get a power bat. We didnt improve our BP.

And this off season we let our 2nd ace go, didnt replace him with another in the market where WE DID NOT HAVE TO GIVE UP OUR BELOVED PROSPECTS, JUST PAY MONEY, and decided to go cheap, just to be in the current position of now having all these holes to plug and maybe having to give up prospects to do so.

Kershaw's injury should be a major wake up call.

I've seen this story before.....I'm just tired of the lack of innovation, sacrifice, and risk taking that is really a part of this business.

All we can pray for is the ego of a fund manager to over ride his instinct to hoard.

I'd also want to note that in recent history, the closest we've come to a WS is when we swung for the fences and did the Boston deal and went and got ManRam. Like or not, that is sometimes what it takes.

Fucktards are wayyyyy to smart to acknowledge the obvious. Like straightforward trades and/or signing non injury risks, that's not in their DNA..

Gibson was such a redass they even made deorderant commercial about it.

But he's arguably responsible for our last WS win.

And remember, the Mets owned us in the regular season that year. But shear force of will, galvanized by one player, made the difference.

all that is good, but what move would make you happy?
can anything they do make you happy?
do you want an ace that throws fits and cuts up uniforms?
would a wife beating closer make you happy?
or a self righteous roider who threw his teammates under the bus?

if you were one of the nerds what would be your suggestion?

Many here hated Manny, and only begrudgingly stopped hating him due to how well he played for us.
Same with Hanley. They loved him when he hit 20 HR in half a season while batting .345 but when he came back to normal it was hate time again.
And pretty much those that hated the two Ramirez also hate the Puig and only tolerate him if he is playing like an MVP candidate.
