first time i heard "gummer" used it was by greg b
it was during christmas time over 30 years ago and his family was having a huge party
us being us we were sufficiently coked up, late and tripping balls by the time we got there
i was trying to get him to go to a bar or something and he wasn't having it
so we arrive and i have basically met his mom and dad a couple of times and not much of his extended family but the place is PACKED
easily 200+ and as we walk through the door his grandpa is standing there w a drink
and he blurts out "grandpa! how you doing you old gummer?!"
totally broke the ice and we were instantly the life of the party carrying on and slapping backs, darting in and out of the back rooms
stole some guys girl that turned out to be the sister of his brothers wife so i was also instantly notorious lol
i will never forget that night or how amazing he was at blowing the cover off a situation

I guess I'm naive, but I just don't see the average Haitian being able to take themselves and family to Florida...

Haven't seen Codge around these parts for a while. Hoping he isn't caught up in some weathers issues over the weekend.

Two missiles fired at the USS Mason, a Navy destroyer...from Yemen, by Iranian backed rebels.
I guess the old criteria dictating what an act of war is has undergone substantial modification...I can understand why. To some degree.
But will Iran answer why their money is going to these people who target US lives and property? Will anyone even ask them?
I would suspect that we know exactly where these missiles were launched from...so why can't we at least blow the shit out of that site?
They didn't hit their target this time, but given enough tries, they sure will.

Of course not. Does Hillary tell the truth? No one does even when directly asked.

And we, as defenders of freedom set the bar.

Really really low in this case

Indeed. and then deny it was us that took them out.

    S.O.P.

If that is SOP, then that is fine.
Just as long as we take it out.
If it were Israel, they'd flatten the site.
Imo, gotta think tactically here, when they're trying to kill our sailors...fuck what the world thinks. Somebody has got to give the order to protect our servicemen and women...not like Benghazi. Somebody with balls.
    They all hate us anyway.
Can we really be any more disrespected than we are now, anyway?

Yeah this seems to be the DSP thread focus

and the answer is an emphatic No!

Our global image of feeble leadership of a corrupt Congress gains us nothing but more abuse.
    Like we asked for it
    Because we do.. daily
All while Oblather hams up at yet another contrived press conference

You're old enough BZ to recall the last openly feeble POTUS, Jimmy (the lustful peanut farmer) Carter
and how the Iran hostage crisis (oh yeah them again) was in year #2
because the peaceful farmer had no stones
until Ronnie (tell me my lines again) Reagan was elected and came into office
and then the religious nutjobs let the hostages go at once

    Why?

Because Ronnie just might have nuked the whole lot of them and they knew it.

Did senile Ronnie have stones? Or just do a great job of acting like he had stones?
Turns out it didn't matter which
because those same idiot religious nutjobs
    had fear.

    Real Fear.

Fear that they had provoked someone who might actually DO something about it.

and THAT is what propels a great many Trump supporters
a tiredness of our POTUS being a nutless eunuch
and a hope that the orange egomaniac might settle down towards the center
and quit being a full blown loon so that he/we can scare people again.

alas it's a lost cause if there ever was one

And he also made the Russians believe we had Star War weapons ready to rain down upon them.Whether Ronnie had real balls or acting chops ( he was no Brando, btw), he got done what he had to.
The slimey filth terrorists truly only understand power and violence...they respect and react to nothing else.

Ronnie was great. Almost as good as Dick Nixon who put the soviets on check with the detente the made his move on their chinese queen before getting the mate by beating them to the moon. Much harder an acting job to fake moon landing than to fake star wars array.
