Is he still missing bats and pitching strong? Then leave him in if the game is still in doubt (like tonight's).
I think Dave will do what he has to...probably hoping they get a little hit...make it easier to lift him. He can't go nine...impossible, I think.
You know as well as I do that's not the mentality of today's baseball. If it were 30 years ago I'd be on your side, if this were a VITAL game I'd be on your side. 132 pitches is his career high by the way so there's room. What helps is that he's not throwing the AS game.
Understand completely and I don't agree with the philosophy. Also glad he won't be throwing in the AS Game.
