Trayce likely would have been the guy to get sent down with the Ryu activation but Kershaw got hurt and he replaces Ryu. 2nd life for Trayce. Verdugo will be up in September barring an injury. Update: MehCarthy to DL. So I'm guessing Brock?
Trayce needs to quit baseball. Joc is what he is. Good defender, .800ish OPSer from a premium position player with years of team control. I'd like for him to be better but he's good enough.
I choose to look on the bright side. CK in some ways over pitches to the point of wearing out by the time Oct rolls around. I don't think it's a coincidence that his heroics last post season happened the year he took a lot of time off from the grind of the regular season. At this point, he has nothing else to prove. He's a first ballet hall of famer. A WS would be the icing on the cake...but something he and all Dodger fans want desperately. Let him take a break. The team is deep enough to sustain this lead going into the end of the regular season. If CK's body language and demeanor today was down, that's just CK. He wants to pitch every game, go 9 innings and give up no runs. He doesn't care about pitch counts or preserving oneself. And that is what the Manager is about....slow it down when necessary and keep the team on an even keel, even if the best pitcher in a century may be bummed about being on the DL or not feeling 110%. At this point, however, the FO has to start thinking about the final end game. They have built up a fantastic organization from prospects to current MLB players. We just haven't been to the promised land, and your ace in the hole won't be Superman forever. If there was ever a year or a sign that this is the time to roll the dice, well this is it. Let's just win the whole damn thing this year and let the chips fall where they may. This is about the most balanced Dodger team I have seen, from hitting, to pitching, to managing and the FO. Let's not screw up this opportunity.
They can survive with 4 starters for close to 10 games, they're off on thursday and they have a travel day following the SF series, by that time it will be over 10 days since McCarthy went on the DL, so they can just bring him back. I imagine they will bring up an extra arm in the bullpen in the meantime.
Or, they try to keep both McCarthey and CK on the DL longer than 10 days, and call up Brock and anyone else in the minors they think might have a chance in the big leagues as a SP. Might at least try to make lemonade out of lemons while it doesn't hurt you.
I thought you were talking about my erection. BTW, I think top to bottom, the best journalistic talent on TV today is on MLB Network: Kelley Nash Hedie Whatney Jamie Hersch Talk about 6 foot erections
Watched the DVR telecast to hear DR's comments and CK was basically shotputting the ball up there in the 2nd.
we were just too happy w the attorneys seats to notice i'm starting to think an old fashioned lair type get together might be in order is there any energy behind it? this is our year bkitches!
Ironically if Joc Pederson didn't constantly get bench duty because of Thompson he wouldn't be in this slump. He was hitting .300 a week ago since his return from the DL. Got sat a few games, now back at shit levels. Never have a seen a young player with such power potential get so misused by management. Joc's agent needs to be fucking fired. I would love .260 with 25 dingers from my center fielder for the next five years. This organisation is doi everything in its power to stop this. It's fucking retarded (no offense Champ).
You wear this around me there's a 100% chance you get pregnant. I'm sure I could google image and see other pics of her and be meh, but fuck me that's hot.
Kershaw getting hurt sucks an incredible amount. I'm prepared for the reality that he'll miss a lot of time and possibly not be fully ready for the playoffs. His career is really taking a big hit with these back injuries, it really sucks
