i could see them asking for Puig AND Verdugo if they are taking any money for next year
really seems like all signs and momentum are pointing to this actually happening, crazy

Crazy to say but I would offer them Urias and Verdugo and keep Puig.

There is no way they are taking Puig (because Mattingly). I think Adrian would wave his no trade, but not to go there (they have Bour). McCarthy and Kazmir make sense, as they could use starters with Volquez out most of the year

I imagine Jeter would eventually can DBB and hire his own manager if DBB VS Puig were still a thing. But I do think Jeter would be asking for trouble by placing Puig in Miami. He'd be a fan fave and give fans something playful to watch while they suck/rebuild, but obviously, there's a lot of potential distractions waiting for Puig in Miami. Although, the timing does seem right for a Puig trade now that he's rebuilt some value, I just don't know if Miami is the right place. Maybe DBB will be the 1st manager to request a trade? Guess I can see it either way. Would definitely understand if LAD didn't want to sink whatever cost it'll take to re-sign Puig given his volatility, but then of course there is the chance that Puig could sign for less and out-produce such a contract, proving valuable in an OF with Stanton. I think LAD will be fine either way, whether they sell stock while it's hot, replacing Puig in RF with Stanton, or not.

Thought the M's might do some creative stuff this offseason. Dee to CF qualifies for sure, think he'll do fine out there.

How long do you think Mattingly has as Marlins skipper past this next season?

Looks like Stanton is now playing hardball with the Dodgers. Adding Houston to the mix is basically saying I will join the team that beat you guys in the WS if you don’t start getting active in this bidding for me.

And you know what, the Dodger FO better be listening because that would suck.

I don't know about all that. Houston's a good org top to bottom, I can see him genuinely being interested in playing with that group..although, they really need a left handed bat for what they have at the top/mid of that order with righties Springer/Altuve/Correa.

Puig makes zero sense for Miami. If they trade Stanton and go into full rebuild (they already traded Dee), why would they want a guy who is only under team control for 2 more years? And a guy who costs money. If Puig is involved in a Miami trade, it would have to involve a third team and prospects coming back.

I just don't get why Puig would be involved. He doesn't shed a significant amount of money for 2018 and he is as valuable to us as anyone else.

Well this is about the 2nd best outcome we could have asked for regarding Ohtani, a non-NL team and a non-contender.

With the Angels, Ohtani will actually have a shot to play both ways, so good for him. Playing both ways beats winning.

Hope this backfires on them like every other “big signing” in the history of the franchise.

I feel bad for you guys that live in LA who are going to have to see a new slate of Moreno’s pathetic billboards.
