No way. Barnes got on base twice yesterday and caught every baseball. He’s starting with the lefty on the mound
I don’t think Kemp starts, either in favor of Puig or Bellinger. I think it’ll be essentially the same lineup as yesterday. I think freese for sure has to start, even with the talk of saving him for later. The brewers are gonna roll with Miley much longer than other pitchers, and Hader probably won’t even be available today. Today’s game will have to be one where they aren’t forced to win or lose off the starting pitcher
Wow...Roberts is evil, too? Besides doltish? Who knew? Manny could have stepped down on his tendon instead of dragging his shin along it. If you want to definitely fuck up a dude, that's the way to get it done. Ruptured Achilles tendon? Career over. I do it all the time in the supermarket. Ladies open like the Red Sea for the Hebrews when I come down the aisle. Really works well.
I don't think he is going to the 1B moving forward. Muncy will probably be the guy going into next season. Bellinger is too good in the OF, if he could find some middle ground between this year and last year with the bat and do that in CF, that would be perfect.
I just want us to leave in whoever starts at 1B. Doing a line shift in the 4th inning is killing our bench. In game 2 we had Maeda in the on-deck circle in the 9th inning, and last night we were one Grandal injury away from, I guess, Joc catching? And Walker Buehler in LF? All I know is, we are playing with fire the way the bench is being managed.
We got Hanley for him in 2012, since that trade Eovaldi has amassed a total of 8.5 WAR in 6.5 seasons, has averaged around 111 innings per season, the only season he came close to 200 innings was also the worst of his career(ERA+). Not to mention, his control years are spent and he was a FA last year that signed a 2 year deal with Rays knowing he was missing all of 2017 after TJ surgery. Hanley in 2.5 seasons with the Dodgers had a 9.7 WAR for comparison. That is not saying that Eovaldi has not been solid when on the field, but he has never shown that he can stay healthy for any stretch. Also, had this FO signed him last year knowing he was missing the whole season, this board would have imploded.
i'm in the same place literally getting text messages atm "cmon lets go" w seatgeek prices not going because i can't bear to watch him lose it i might die in DS
was at that 10-9 game in 14 its still the most brutal loss i've ever experienced in any sport and looking at that chart brings back more awful memories #stayhome
We've come a long way from Doc declaring in the offseason that Belli would only play 1B moving forward. Even if Muncy doesn't come along and pop, I can't get behind pigeon holing an athlete/natural OF of Belli's caliber @ 1B. Although, I still worry about Belli's offensive splits in CF and if the whole routine of getting ready to play center has an effect on him at the plate or whatever, but at the same time he's been playing in the OF all his life and there's plenty of time to work through it if there is something there. But even if he just OPS'd .800 with 20-25 HRs in CF, that still winning work given the position and the golden glove. Want Belli leading off next season. They've probably been keeping him out of the lead off spot to develop him as a guy that can handle the bat with men on base, but if they re-sign Machado and get a healthy Seager back, I want Belli hitting in front of Turner/Machado/Seager. Get him some fastballs to punish. I don't know if he'll ever be Jim Edmonds with the bat and be a career .900 OPS guy, but he looks damn close to Edmonds with the glove out there. If Muncy is locked in at 1B, re-sign Machado for SS, Seager to 3B with JT looking sloppy there lately and JT can move back to 2B. Joc/LF and Verdugo RF. Puig..some other team can worry with him, maybe Baltimore comes back for him. Kemp? Lol
There is a real possibility that this is Kershaw's last start as a Dodger today. Crazy to think about, but I still think it would be a gift if he opted out. Dodgers would be absolutely loaded with draft money.
that game resulted in me having more alcohol than I've ever had just picked up the bottle and didn't stop until I blacked out Fucking brutal loss.
That is how they cheat. They tack up a foreign substance like pine tar or some clear cream that has similar tactile advantages.
