these guys are pretty fucken funny... Michelle Williams (left) is to Meryl Streep as Ned Colletti (right) is to "insert any other GM name here." Oscar night: Ned Colletti took time away from the Dodgers to attend the Academy Awards. He said that it's always been a dream of his to see the show in person. Coincidentally, it is also a dream of Dodgers fans that Ned take more time away. War Horse and Moneyball were nominated for a total of 12 awards but didn't win anything. Ned Colletti immediately signed them up for the Dodgers. Technical knock out: After getting his suspension thrown out by an arbitrator on a technicality, Ryan Braun said he was "pleased and relieved." But that's probably just the herpes cream doing its thing. More Braun: Of course Ryan Braun is innocent. If he's "guilty" of anything, it's using steroids.
Chad Billingsley to start Dodgers' Cactus League opener Monday Dodgers starter Chad Billingsley takes part in a spring training workout session in Phoenix on Feb. 22. (Jae C. Hong / Associated Press / February 22, 2012) By Dylan Hernandez Los Angeles Times February 28, 2012, 10:40 a.m. Phoenix — Chad Billingsley will pitch the Dodgers’ exhibition season opener on Monday against the Chicago White Sox, Manager Don Mattingly announced Tuesday. Billingsley will be followed in the spring rotation by Ted Lilly, Aaron Harang and Chris Capuano, in that order. Reigning Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw will make his exhibition season debut on March 9 against the Texas Rangers. Mattingly has said Kershaw will pitch on opening day, which will be April 5 in San Diego. If the spring rotation is any indication, Billingsley, Lilly, Harang and Capuano figure to follow him in the regular-season rotation, in that order.
^ And then there's Ned dropping the puck at a Kings game (Feb 17): http://video.kings.nhl.com/videocenter/console?id=158292 Ned has been out there, no doubt singing his swan song, taking in the last few weeks as Mr. Dodger --- before the mighty axe comes down severing the GM's Dodger cap from his uniform.
Living out here in LV, I see that I need to throw down very soon for MLB TV: MAR 6th 3:05 pm: San Francisco Giants vs Los Angeles Dodgers. MAR 12th 4:05 pm: Los Angeles Dodgers vs Orange County Angels.
Double check that it's not blacked out. I did a trial several years back only to find out all Dodger games were blacked out, even the KCAL games you can't get out there.
Yep - Look at the MLB TV blackout list for Las Vegas. I don't get why they are doing this: http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/mediacenter/index.jsp?c_id=la
smh... that's still how they do it. Yes, LV get's Prime Ticket, so bps should be covered for a good chunk of games.
A majority of them actually. Kcal probably only get 60 of the games. Everything else will be on PrimeTicket or nat/regional
Prime Ticket in LV doesn't play all the Dodger games. Maybe half the games you get in LA. This added to the great frustration last year. But I don't see any guarantees that the non-broadcasted games on Prime Ticket will be shown on MLB TV. So, all of this could all be a plot by Fox and MLB to make more east coast baseball fans... for these games would not be blacked out on MLB TV.
Really? I thought last year all PrimeTicket games were broadcast in LV? But you get screwed on the KCAL games for sure (which sucks because MLB TV won't show those either). You can also get screwed on some FOX Saturday games - I can remember at least two times I was all set for an afternoon with my Boys of Summer only to find out the Yankees vs Red Sox or Cardinals vs Cubs game is being shown instead.
I would look at the Dodger schedule and match up which games were supposed to be on Fox Sports West, and turn on the LV cable, and was many times disappointed. You know, the usual random crap: women's volleyball, women's softball, high school football game reruns from 1997. I always figured the station personnel were sitting around passing doobies. IDK - maybe Cox Cable is to blame? Not sure how it works. I've since bounced "Cocks" Cable and moved to CenturyLink. I'll have to wait to see if there's any difference. Probably not. MLB TV doesn't play the KCAL games? Wow - what's the point of getting it if you live in the blackout zone? Too bad you can't just get MLB TV for a hundred big ones and see it all, in a blackout zone or not.
CenturyLink gets PrimeTicket? I was going to make the switch 2 years ago, but PrimeTicket wasn't listed and I asked/called all the help numbers and no one could confirm they offered PrimeTicket.
Uh oh. I've got CenturyLink internet only right now. I was about to get tv hooked up, as I just bounced Cocks. Now I'll have to double check that. What are the other tv options? Dish? Geez... I've got some checking to do.
Oh man. Double check with CenturyLink. I looked into it before the 2010 season, FSW was on the schedule but PrimeTicket wasn't, so I wasn't sure and didn't want to commit without knowing - and that's when I called every number I could find but know one could say PrimeTicket was available through Century Link. Cox has no contracts, so you could always pick it up for the Summer and my guess is it's cheaper than a dish. I only had Cox while in Vegas. Since you probably have a contract with Century Link you can't bundle, but I actually had CenturyLink internet for a while with Cox for cable because it was cheaper that way.
