#Phillies have traded Carlos Ruiz & cash to the Dodgers in exchange for catcher A.J. Ellis, RHP Tommy Bergjans & a player to be named later.
I mean that is definitely an upgrade, but damn what a crazy deal. BTW, Ruiz has not been bad at all this year.
I like Chooch but it seems like an odd move. AJ hasn't been good at all except in spurts but he knew our pitchers. Chooch has to learn them fast!!!!!!!
Damn. This was random. Now all we need is Howard and we got the band back together again. Trying to relive that World Series magic
One of those trades you never thought you would see. Thought AJ was going to retire or be cut in Dodger blue...
Really all I care is that MGT did this with the blessing of Kershaw........we really need a mentally sound Kershaw if we have any hope of doing damage in the playoffs.
I mean, AJ wasn't starting any playoff games and it's not like Grandal or AJ are getting in a ton of time with our on again, off again DL pitchers and call ups. Carlos is a solid vet and I'm sure he will pick up on these guys quickly.
Was this a waiver wire deal? Is he still eligible for the post-season? I wished I knew the trade rules better. I wonder what Kershaw is thinking....or is this a sign that they are shutting Kershaw down for the year.
Nerds pulled me out of retirement with this one Excellent move, no frills Got rid of Ellis and Puig, a little salt with some sugar for Kershaw Perhaps Ellis lost his " future manager " tag to Utley? SVS should be on the look out @Doughty8..what say you?
