You know i just don't get any of this when it comes down to it. You are being paid to play and who said you get to do what you want? In fact if the Dodgers want you to then you should go take tickets at the entrance. Who says you have a claim to a place or a position or you walk? Then leave the money on the table. Imo if they say, dismiss dbb as manager:idea:, then he should be available to pose as an action figure out front if they want him to the next three years.
I wonder if anything like this has ever happened, where a manager tells a player (a well paid one to), and the player basically refuses. So eventually the player goes out to the "new" position, and basiclly doesn't try or hustle, and makes a mockery of the whole thing, costing games and who knows what else for his teammates...saying in effect, "I'm out here, but that don't mean I do my best" kind of crap. Is this breech of contract or anything similar...you legal types should know. Or maybe even the criminal types.

gave up a 2 run Hr to Phillips, has had guys on base a lot but usually got out of the jams. and last inning he would have to if Butera would have blocked his pitch in the dirt.
