    I've lived down here for 30+ years and gave up on the dodgers when the O'Mally family sold to Rupert Murdoch in the 90s. I've been a fan of minor league baseball ever since.

    it happens plus it would be cool to have an opposition fan posting in the game thread if you were so inclined
    fwiw i never wanted the Flippers or the Chargers to be displaced either
    SD is a nice place and deserves its teams
    can't really blame anyone living there for being a Padre fan since they're doing everything possible to compete against the behemoths

    first game should be tight
    losing 10 of 11 to the Mets in 88 didn't mean anything either
    agree w huh? that the Mariners and Indians look a bit more scrappy and dangerous

    Nothing, not even Shaq, Lebron, Carmelo, Russel, can every truly get me to give up on the Lakers.
    But I would be nice to have had the clips in San Diego, just to be able to go to the games.
    I usually catch a couple Wizards game each year (in DC a lot) and an occasional Rockets game. Wish I could watch the NBA when I'm home.

    It's a pretty good line, though...somebody gotta come up with something solid and ballsy instead of the unspoken cowering so many Dodger fans are suggesting and intimating.
    Fuck it- it's baseball...play better than they do and we win. Don't, and we deserve to lose.

    It's not like the Padres were all that hot coming into the playoffs. Finished the season 5-5.

    They just got to play the Mets as the wheels fell off.
