GAME THREAD CARDS/DODGERS

Might as well start an off-season thread.

 

I'm not ruling out a comeback, but yikes. since Denver this team has been horrific.

 

And they did that with less talent than LAD's had during this 5yr run.
Tells us how lame leadership is. A bunch of candy asses.

 

Pretty much exactly where LAD got the Morrow/Maeda pen combo that helped power them to the WS last year..both converted starters out of nowhere getting good results.

O'Day and Andrew Miller choosing other teams in FA..Morrow being arguably the most injury prone pitcher of his era and a terrible long term buy in FA ( potentially out for the rest of this season w/the Cubs)..the Chapman domestic violence fiasco..some things haven't gone LAD's way as far as the pen goes. But big picture, I can't put this 5 year/WS title-less run on the pen. It's been solid enough to bring home the title at least once. Although, they've certainly had their shitty moments in the post..0-2 count chokers Jansen and Blanton immediately come to mind. Surely, Jansen being a regular guy at this point doesn't help a ton. If he doesn't pitch up to the money he makes, LAD will be done anyway since he closes the show.

 

You're not giving MehCarthy enough credit, that guy has made a career out of straight up stealing money from teams

 

Yea, those two have pretty much been step for step.

Baez maybe deserved a shout out as well for his ep with Kersh against the Cards. I let him make it since Kersh couldn't just hold that big ass 5 run lead like a hall of famer in his prime should. Baez basically a kid running around with scissors in his hands. You give Kersh a 5 run lead, as resident hall of famer in his prime he was supposed to shut that door, that W should be in the fridge. To have lefty bats beating him over the head, that was surreal, and just the beginning of our nightmare.
