You guys are killing me.....at this point we don't know if Urias is even going to get out of the 5th inning without tossing 100+ pitches. I still can't figure out why you guys would not give up potential talent for proven talent??

 

I don't think we're saying that. Lord knows last year I wanted the FO to pull the trigger on some SP deals.

BUT, the problem here is the White Sox are not just gonna settle for Urias. They are gonna want a butt load more. And that is the problem.

 

Oh yeah, they would want more than Urias, so why not give it up??? We have so much depth in the farm system. Send them Urias/Holmes/Verdugo/Beuhler. That leaves us with Verdugo, Deleon, Montas to back fill the major league roster AND gives us an AMAZING 1-2 punch in Kershaw/Sale.

 

Too bad we don't still have LaRoche. LOL

 

Look, even I would be nervous about giving up that much for 1 pitcher, albeit a good one.

But the seeds of this dilemma began in the off season when the FO did not go and get an impact SP because of cost, and pulled the plug on Chapman, the latter of which I can't really criticize.

But since we didn't acquire with money, now our choice is plug 3 holes with trades that might make you wince or sit still and essentially just kinda hope things work out our way.

I dunno. I didn't like it when it was happening (or not happening more like it), and I don't like that approach now.

 

There was a point early in his career when the same could be said for Kershaw.
I'm pretty sure when Juliomania starts in a year or 2 you'll be hoppin a ride on the wagon.

 

If Juilomaina does start in 2 years sure.......my fear is that we may be wasting Kershaw. The dude has been in the league for 9 years now......how long do you think his window of dominance is???? Im not sure we can wait 2 years for Juilomania. My fear is that Urias will be dominate, but not until Kershaw is Jared Weaver. I would rather give up Urias for a CURRENTLY DOMINATE Sale.

At this point, I would really love to get a Miller like BP guy and Archer.

We are not getting Sale. I don't see it.

And I don't see us getting a bat. I know Beltran is being shopped, but not sure that's going to work.

 

The "elite" label has more to do with the rumored asking price, making me think these are the guys most coveted on the market. Whether or not the pitchers are actually elite performers, that can be debated - which is why I put "elite" in quotes.
