A long time ago I made a bet with Codge that the Dodgers would ink a $200 million + free agent by the end of the 2018-19 offseason.

Looks like the bet is coming down to the wire.

I understand why teams dont want to give out long term deals, but the 90s and 2000s had so much roster turnover for the Dodgers that I'd be okay with having a select few players actually spending a decade with us

Well that's annoying. Do we know how long "a while" is? Saw some people throw this out on twitter and thought it could have been legit.

I'm just reaching for anything that might indicate the Dodgers really might sign Harper.

You learn how to throw CORRECTLY. Everything took off for me once I had the surgery since I relearned how to throw a ball at less stressful angle. The arm strength comes back in most cases and the meticulous rehab gets you to throw at an angle that doesn’t do as much damage to your elbow... now as for my shoulder...

If I’m not mistaken, the 18-19 offseason is technically over.

Depends who you ask. It's technically offseason for Harper. Also, I don't remember the exact wording of the bet... And it's all moot if Codge never shows up.

Heh, I remember that ridiculousness. Think it may have originated between he and myself because I said LAD would have real interest in Harper when the time came

The latter will be an interesting watch because I believe CKWG was pretty accurate here..

Arenado presser live. Pretty shocking signing, but I guess everybody has a price. He said he was tired of losing multiple times..decided to take the win at the bank

LAD should sign Harp right now, during Arenado's presser

We'll find out for certain in a few years since Arenado has that opt out

I think this is coming down to the Giants and Dodgers for Bryce! Can't let the hated ones win this one!

Wouldn't shock me if Philly eventually just steps away because of all the reports of Harp not wanting to play there. Philly's not the market for stars with 1 foot in and 1 foot out, or stars that don't want to be there. An unforgiving fan base there. Already see a bunch of Philly fans on Twitter cursing Harp out over these reports. Smh They already halfway don't like him because of all the years as a rival Nat. Yeah, I can also see this coming down to LAD and SFG, but really SFG just there to drive up the price for LAD.

Friedman is definitely a value guy/numbers cruncher..it's on him to figure out a way to do this and get approval from ownership, but as many others are saying, Walter being at the meeting was a solid sign. Think maybe Walter went to see if they're about to pay a douche. Lol Any red flags or false moves by Harp in the meeting and it was probably game over. So hopefully Harp didn't fumble on the 1 yard line

Giants are totally in it to drive the price north..

Harper would be a fool to go there.
(of course he has come off as a fool more than once already)
