I guess the 20 year precedent leaves me so little hope.

It;s like no matter how many positives or negatives there are...no matter what the circumstances...it results in an L and it is disheartening.

i'm not floating on a cloud or anything. i feel like some punk just whipped my ass at ping pong but the team is fighting even though its making mistakes and the pitching is suspect, at least in the bp. had it been 6-3 and we lost 10-3 i would feel different. they fought tonight as opposed to rolling over. thats very different for us this year. just hoping it wasn't a one off.

I try my bets to stay positive, but when all I've known is failure from this team, it gets really hard to think everything is gonna be alright.

    But it'll be alright.

I think getting Greinke and Cap back will do wonders. Hanley should be back in June and then there will be more opportunities to address what needs we have through trade.

I just hope we haven't dug too big of a hole for ourselves. I know it's still very early, but losing to our division is worrying me. Only team we took a series from were the Pads, and they promptly took out our star pitcher and proceeded to destroy us the next time we played. We need to take advantage of the series against the D-Backs and go on a serious winning streak (we have a chance with the Marlins coming up) before Grienke, Cap and Hanley return.

Amazing game really. Too many defensive mishaps from us. Block AJ. And Skip, instead of posing for the umpire keep the tag applied for if they come off the bag like they did.

    AJ needs to block.

Well, the extremely hated one sure made a difference in this game, as much as Hanley Ramirez would, surely; that was tremendous baserunning on Dee's part, and without him in there last night, we don't even make a game of it. It doesn't matter though, we still are losers, even if it's from an unknown scrub never heard of before, like Quiroz or whatever. (we have Sellers off the bench, BTW)We just can't beat or hang with the other teams, that's a given. Can't even get some runs for our ace when he's out there pitching his heart out.
I would suggest, although of course, it won't go anywhere because I'm just a schlub on a BB website, that they remove Javvy Guerra from the BP as fast as humanly possible. Put him on a mach 3 jet plane , or bullet train, or hire a guy and a very fast car to drive him the fuck out like pronto. This guy is heartbreak waiting to happen. He sucked the last time he was up, and he still sucks, as bad as ever. He was a flash in the pan, just like Cruz. And that's not saying much when talking about our pen. They are, simply, one of the worst in MLB. Terrible. No doubt, DBB will use the shit out of him, like Belisario.
Every guy out of there gave up runs-it was just fate that eventually the scumbags would win. League looks atrocious. Lucky he didn't lose it the inning before. Just bad pitching and bad defense, when the one bright spot, Paco was in there. AJ's gotta block that pitch in the dirt in that situation...gotta.
the Giants, along with the all the right buttons pushing manager Bochy, don't look beatable. They also have incredible good luck, and have the magic we have been looking for for years and years. You just can't buy that. I am convinced of that when I see that fat ugly smelly Sandoval, while being adored and relentlessly worshipped by the LAD announcer, swings like a madman, hits a little faggot dribbler, and gets a base hit. After of course, the AB in which he swung at a pitch in the dirt, and gets a hit there, too.
That's all so unbeatable, I think.

Dominant Ryu looks to stave off Giants sweep
Cain seeking first victory of season after homer-filled previous start
    By Quinn Roberts / MLB.com | 5/5/2013 2:23 AM ET

In his first six starts for the Dodgers, rookie Hyun-Jin Ryu has definitely lived up to expectations.

He's tossed at least six innings in all of his outings, five of which have been quality starts. The South Korean phenom has also managed to strike out 46 batters in just 37 2/3 innings for a 3-1 record and 3.35 ERA.

Striking out a career-high 12 against the Rockies on Tuesday, Ryu held them to just two runs on three hits in six innings for the win.

"He changes speeds, hit spots," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said after the game. "He had a good curve, a slider. He didn't use his changeup as much. That's a sign of a guy who uses what he needs to. He's a tough matchup."

He'll look to keep up that hot start Sunday against the Giants at AT&T Park as the Dodgers try to salvage the series after two heartbreaking walk-off home runs by San Francisco in the first two games.

Facing the Giants on April 2 in his first career Major League start, Ryu suffered his only loss so far this year, allowing three runs (one earned) on 10 hits in 61/3 innings.

Meanwhile, Matt Cain will be on the hill for the Giants, still looking for his first win of the season. In his first six outings this year, the right-hander is 0-2 with a 6.49 ERA.

In his last start Monday against the D-backs, Cain received a no-decision, allowing four runs on five hits in six innings. Cain allowed three home runs in the fourth inning, marking the most long balls he's allowed in a single frame in his career.

"It is a little weird, because you make some [good] pitches and they hit homers," Cain said after the game. "You think one of them's a double and it's a homer. It's like all the hits are homers. But do you really understand it? No. It's kind of the way it is and you get over it. You just have to keep trying to make pitches."

Cain faced the Dodgers on Opening Day, allowing only four hits in six shutout innings for a no-decision. He also struck out a season-high eight back on April 1.

Winning last night would've been a two game swing in our favor and a chance to take the series and come home feeling good. But no. God I hate this team.

Great lineup...not really...but Cain is struggling so i hope we can capitalize!

Again, alot depends on Kemp and Ethier...with which nobody has confidence in right now.

@JonHeymanCBS: RT @BillShaikin: This is 3rd straight game Adrian Gonzalez will not start because of neck stiffness - more, he says, the trapezius muscle (.

Why do they keep putting him in the lineup and taking him out? I get it's a game time decision but if he's consistently unable to play don't they know he ain't playing earlier in the day? This is a joke.

Seriously seeing his name in the lineup just to get pulled is fucking irritating.
