I'm not sure the rule on IFA signings but I don't think Urias can be traded. Seager, Pederson and Lee for Lee? No way that was offered.
The deadline comes at an awkward time for the D'Backs. They play 6 games against Tampa, Texas and Boston the next 6 days, while we play the Yankees and Cubs. A 2.5 game lead could become a 4-5 game lead pretty quickly this week, and at that point would it really be worth trading prospects for Bud Norris or Jake Peavy?
I still don't believe it. No way should Seager go anywhere, the kid is just way too talented and plays a position of desperate need for us. I don't see us dealing Urias anywhere either.
A really like Seager though. He's projected to be better than his brother and Kyle is a top 20 player this year.
If this were 10 years ago, that would be true. However, now most teams have the money to lock up their stars, which causes the weak free agent classes.
1) That's not true to his skillset 2) I like Seager as much as anyone, but if you can put Kershaw-Lee-Greinke on the mound in October you do it, and worry about who the 3B in 2015 will be later.
Seager isn't going to play 3B next year. And I understand holding prospects close to the vest, but if you add Cliff Lee you have the best team in baseball, hands down. If Ned makes that deal you can't argue with it, he did what he could to make us the hands down best team in baseball.
We'll see what happens. I'd prefer not to trade Seager but I wouldn't burn the city down if we did. I'm pretty good with trusting what moves the Dodgers decide to do.
I'm very much against moving Seager for anyone...but you are swaying me bigtime. I mean you almost have me sold.
I actually think he's an ahole. His cockyness is overwhelming and he has been very bad in some post season games. I'm pulling away again when I look at his face.
Never said he was going to be play next year but if you want to go that route then who do we get to play 3B in 2015? Headley, pass. Panda may eat himself out of the league, dude gets fatter by the hour. Our pitching is more than good enough to win a WS this year. Does Cliff Lee gives us a better shot, yes, but is it substantially more that I'd be willing to trade Seager for him, no. Rather keep Seager, let our current rotation try to get it done, and then go after Garza or somebody else in FA.
How about this guy .. the last younger brother 3b prospect to tear up our farm. Would you have traded him for the top available pitcher? Just food for thought.
Have I ever said prospects are guaranteed to be good? I'll wait. I'm fully aware prospects are not gaurantees, I just don't agree with trading Seager. We got something better for LaRoche anyways, Manny!!!!!!!
