I think I roll the dice with Nolasco. Any signs of rust or he just sucks out there I yank him If we win, we only need two wins with Greinke/Kershaw/Ryu. If we lose, you have Greinke/Kershaw/Ryu all going on proper rest. I reallly hope our offense drops a shit load of runs on the Cards...Actually idgaf just get the W
I say you pitch your best. Pretend you're in an elimination game every night and maybe you'll never get to one.
Kershaw going on short rest in the NLDS is quite a bit different than throwing Greinke out there tomorrow. In the NLDS it was just Kershaw, and just for one game, with Greinke on normal rest in Game 5 if needed. Pitching Greinke on short rest tomorrow is committing to a 3 man rotation, meaning Greinke on short rest, Kershaw on short rest, Ryu on short rest, Greinke again on short rest. I don't like that. I prefer Nolasco pitch tomorrow. Followed by Greinke, Kershaw, and Ryu on normal rest (actually, extra rest for Kershaw). But here's the fun wrinkle: Kershaw had a short outing last time, plus he will have 5 days rest before game 6. Tomorrow is day 3. Instead of a bullpen session to stay sharp, Kershaw could pitch 2 innings of relief tomorrow.
I agree with this. I think since they're throwing out Lynn, you gotta hope we can score. Ricky should be extra motivated as well to prove himself and we're at home. If it were any other pitcher but Lynn that we were going up against, then i'd probably go another route. Especially since how they are pitching, but with Lynn out there, i think you gamble and throw out Ricky. Lynn got hit pretty hard against Pitt and i like to think we are more potent of an offense than them. I did a little more research on him and i think this is telling. This year ERA Home: 2:82 Road: 5: 15 The guy is not a good road pitcher. Now i know we don't know what we get from Ricky, but I still think we have the advantage throwing out Ricky out there. I'll be fine with whatever we decide but i lean towards doing this.
Having Nolasco go 4 innings, Kersh 2, Howell 1, Wilson 1, and Jansen to close it out sounds like a good idea to me.
Hanley needs to keep manning up and playing. It was great to see him out there tonight. Also, I love Adrian.
Kennedy says use Greinke tomorrow, Nolasco then CK for game 6 in STL for the win. I'd go for that too. There's no right or wrong for me here. I'm undecided...I just want to win.
Ricky is just gonna deal tomorrow. I feel it! He knows what it means to be a Dodgers fan, it's like one of us pitching.
I don't get that though. You either use Nolasco or don't IMO. If we use Nolasco then we put him against their worst pitcher.
Just a thought. Wouldnt it make sense to have your most effective pitcher against the Cards pitch a must win game in LA to even the series at 2-2. That's Greinke. If you win and tie it up, then you can go to Nolasco in game 5. If you lose 5, then you can go Kershaw and Ryu to close it out, especially how they pitched against the Cards. If Greinke loses game 4, go directly to Kershaw. Then Ryu. Thats how I see it.
If that's the logic then why isn't game 5 a must win? Winning 2 in a row at st louis will be tough no matter who is pitching. So then if you want kersh and ryu to close it out, then Greinke, Kersh and Ryu would be more logical no?
I'd go Greinke tomorrow with the chance to even it up, Nolasco at home on Wednesday, and Kershaw/Ryu in St. Louis.
