It is about time. His elite speed, solid arm and knack for diving theatrical plays could make him a dangerous 4th, 5th OF for this club. I know he can't hit a lick, but maybe getting to a position with a little less stress can allow him to find that solid hit tool he once possessed.
If he could fekin' learn to bunt he'd be an on base threat every time he stepped to the plate.:hamster:
Don't understand why they haven't sent Maury out to ABQ for a month and had him work with Dee everyday.
Dee Gordon? Why the fuck are we still talking about Dee Gordon in any capacity other than a pinch runner? Seriously, get Wills or Lopes to teach him proper base stealing technique and make him a monster on the base paths.
if we can manage to avoid a bust and turn a once top prospect into a 4th outfielder, that would be great.
http://notanotherbaseballblog.wordpress.com/2011/12/17/charlie-finleys-designated-pinch-runners/ There is precedence but it's rare.
Now that the WS is FINALLY over we can now get on with the business at hand and that's improving this team so WE can be celebrating a title not some other team!!!!!!!!!!
the one, and only, world series game i got to see in person my dad somehow got tickets for game 2 on sunday afternoon almost 40 years ago and i remember it like it was yesterday... the smell of cigarettes, cigars and pipes in the air up 3-0 heading into the 9th, and -- just like that -- it's suddenly 3-2 with only 1 out vinny's voice resonating and reverberating throughout the stadium via 50,000ish transistor radios... "marshall gets the sign, throws to first..." and then it went silent... a brief, momentary collective gasp of hope and disbelief, and then... mayhem to this day, i have never heard it any louder at dodger stadium one of the best days of my entire life... watching the dodgers play in the world series -- with my dad
Chris Perez just released, any takers? He was busted for having some herb shipped to his home. A natural fit lol.
lol... Indians pitcher and wife busted after marijuana mailed to their home Priority parcel addressed to Brody Baum - Chris Perez's dog Investigator dressed as USPS worker takes parcel to Rocky River home By Jessica Jerreat | 7 June 2013 Indians pitcher Chris Perez and his wife face drug charges after police intercepted a package of marijuana being delivered to their Ohio home. Disguised as a USPS postal worker, a postal investigator went to the couple's rented Rocky River home with police on Tuesday to question them about a suspicious package. When Perez's wife, Melanie, was presented with the parcel addressed to Brody Baum, she allegedly claimed it was for her dog. The priority mail parcel contained 163.9 grams of marijuana, packed into four zip lock bags that had been covered in Vaseline and put in two containers that were then wrapped in a shirt, according to Newsnet5. It had been address to 'Baum' which is Mrs Perez's maiden name, and had been posted from Los Angeles. The smell of marijuana alerted the postal service, according to a USPS report. Jet, a drug-sniffing dog from Cleveland, confirmed that drugs were inside. At first police say the baseball player tried to blame a fan for sending the drugs. However, after being served with a search warrant by Westshore Enforcement Bureau, Perez allegedly took officers to the basement, where he pointed out two jars of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, which he admitted was for personal use, the Rocky River police report said. According to the Morning Journal, before Perez moved to the Rocky River home with his wife and two children, the police had been called to the rented home several times. Police said this had stopped once the previous tenants left and the Perez family moved in. Terry Gilbert, the couple's attorney, told MLB.com: 'My clients Chris and Melanie Perez are facing low-level misdemeanor possession charges. These are accusations only ... they have not been found guilty of any crime.' He added: 'They will be entering not guilty pleas. We ask that people not rush to judgment. We are confident of a favorable outcome.'Rocky River Police confirmed the couple had been charged with a fourth degree misdemeanor and that it was a first-time offense for them. Indians general manager Chris Antonetti said: 'We have talked with Chris and are currently in the process of gathering additional information. We will not have any additional comment at this time.' Perez, who earned $4.5 million last year, is due to return to court with his wife on June 19. __
I like this Dee Gordon playing CF stuff. Then, in spring training, we can change his name, paint a mustache on him and ship him out as a PTBNL to a sucker team and be done with him forever.
